As part of Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program, the wireless company and the Eagles are challenging fans to donate phones at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, November 18th as the Eagles take on the Miami Dolphins.

Volunteers will be stationed at every entrance to the stadium, and will be collecting wireless phones of any brand or model, and accessories such as chargers and car adapters as well.

October is the official national observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The HopeLine program distributes previously owned wireless phones no longer in use to victims of domestic violence, supports nonprofit domestic violence prevention advocacy groups and provides an environmentally safe method for recycling phones. The donated phones are refurbished and recycled or sold. Proceeds are then used to purchase wireless phones for use by victims of domestic violence in emergency or threatening situations. Verizon Wireless also donates airtime to enable victims to quickly receive help from social services and law enforcement agencies.

Since 1995, Verizon Wireless has collected more than 2 million used wireless phones nationwide for the benefit of domestic violence victims and advocacy groups. In the Philadelphia region, the company has donated thousands of wireless phones and free service to domestic violence survivors through its HopeLine program over the past two years.
