The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with QB Chase Daniel.

Daniel, 29, joins the Eagles after spending the last three seasons as a backup quarterback with the Kansas City Chiefs where he played under current Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. In his three years with the Chiefs, Daniel (6-0, 225) appeared in 11 games, including postseason, and made two starts in relief of starting QB Alex Smith. During his time in Kansas City, Daniel completed 43-of-68 attempts for 409 yards and one touchdown with one interception.

Prior to signing with the Chiefs in the 2013 offseason, Daniel spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints. Originally an undrafted free agent signee of the Washington Redskins in 2009, Daniel was added to the Saints practice squad prior to the start of the 2009 regular season and split time between New Orleans' active roster and practice squad for the remainder of the year.

Daniel was rarely forced into duty while serving as a backup to QB Drew Brees in New Orleans, but appeared in 48 games as the team's holder on field goals and PATs.

A three-year starter at the University of Missouri, Daniel led the Tigers to a 30-11 record, including the first two Big 12 North Division titles in school history. In his college career, he completed 1,094-of-1,609 passing attempts (68.0 pct.) for 12,515 yards and 101 touchdowns with 41 interceptions. He also added 970 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 364 carries. As a senior in 2008, Daniel set single-season school records for passing yards (4,335), completions (385) and touchdown passes (39), while being named a finalist for prestigious awards such as the Draddy Trophy, Wuerffel Trophy, Unitas Golden Arm Award, Manning Award, Maxwell Award and Davey O'Brien Award.
