ANAHEIM, Calif. -Tight end Zach Ertz practiced again on Friday in a limited basis and remains in the concussion protocol, so his status for Sunday's game remains very questionable.
"He was limited. Part of his protocol is he can do some physical activity so he was limited today," head coach Doug Pederson said.
If Ertz can't go, and there is genuine uncertainty at this point, the tight end duties will be split between Brent Celek and Trey Burton. Ertz missed the big win over Denver at Lincoln Financial Field earlier in the season and Celek and Burton combined to catch five passes for 80 yards, with Burton hauling in a touchdown pass from quarterback Carson Wentz.
Also on the injury list is linebacker Joe Walker, who along with Ertz is listed as questionable. Walker, sidelined with a stinger for the Seattle game, made progress all week and was a full participant in practice on Friday so he looks like he is on track to play.
Ertz has one day to practice and the Eagles hope he will take the next step toward playing against the Rams. But if not, the backup plans are in place.
"I've done it and if that's the case, we'll go out and play," Burton said. "You're always ready to play. That's the mentality you have to have."
