Dubbed by CBS Sportsline's Clark Judge as "one of the best under-the-radar gets" in free agency, Chris Clemons joins the Eagles after signing a five-year contract on 3/1/08. A speedy defensive end with a penchant for getting to the passer, Clemons posted a career-high eight sacks for the Oakland Raiders in 2007, despite being on the field for just 37 percent of the team's defensive plays. His sack total tied for the team lead. Originally an undrafted free agent signing of Washington in 2003, the 26-year old has appeared in 36 career games (three starts), tallying 37 tackles, 13 sacks and four forced fumbles.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Recorded a career-high 8.0 sacks for Oakland in 2007, despite starting only 2 games and being on the field for just 37 percent of the team's defensive plays. His sack total tied for the Raiders team lead with Derrick Burgess
  • Was one of just four players in the NFL in 2007 to record at least 8.0 sacks while starting in fewer than 10 of his team's contests. The others were Giants DE Justin Tuck (2 starts, 10 sacks), Packers DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (2 starts, 9.5 sacks) and Buccaneers DE Greg White (2 starts, 8 sacks)
  • In his first-career game, brought down Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger for his first-career sack at Pit. (11/28/04)
