- Has a daughter, Mikayla (5/20/07)
- His brother, Andrew, is a senior safety at Illinois St.
- His mother, Anita Williams, works for the county utilities office in his hometown of Largo, FL, while his father, Anthony Paschal, works for a plaster and stucco company. "My father was a good athlete in his own right and probably could have gone pretty far if things had fallen the right way, so he was always there to keep pushing me to be better. My mother was always the one who kept my head on straight and helped me stay focused. They were key to helping me make it to the NFL."
- As an option QB and defensive back at Largo (FL) HS, earned all-county and all-conference honors as a senior, rushing for 959 yds., while throwing 10 TDs and posting 8 INTs on defense
- Also ran track, competing in the 110-meter hurdles and all of the relay events
- Signed with Iowa out of high school because it was the only Division I-A school to offer him a scholarship. He was recruited by a number of I-AA schools to player wide receiver, quarterback and safety
- Was a college teammate of Eagles S Sean Considine at Iowa. As a sophomore, earned the starting role at safety alongside Considine, a senior at the time. "Sean taught me so many of the little things when we played together, including the right way to watch film."
- His hometown of Largo, FL, was a rough area to grow up in, but credits his parents and football as the main reasons he was able to stay out of trouble. "Because I excelled in football, I never had any interest in anything else. People knew I had a shot to make something of myself, so they left me alone to do my thing."
