The Super Bowl Champion Eagles will have a busy offseason with 14 pending free agents, after linebacker Zack Baun and the team reached agreement on a three-year deal prior to the start of free agency.
NFL teams are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents on Monday, March 10. Free agency officially kicks off with the start of the 2025 League Year on Wednesday, March 12 at 4 PM.
Here's a look at each free agent and how they fared during the 2024 season and beyond (*This article will be updated daily with any signing announcements from each player).
LB Zack Baun
Baun signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia last offseason and exploded onto the scene in a much bigger role than he's had in his career. The former New Orleans Saint produced 151 tackles (93 solo), five forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks, and an interception for the Eagles in 2024. He earned first-team All-Pro honors and was named a Defensive Player of the Year finalist as a key contributor to the Eagles' defense. The 28-year-old ended his first season in Philadelphia with a Super Bowl victory, where he picked off Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter.
(UPDATE: Eagles don't allow Baun to reach free agency, agreeing to terms on a new three-year contract on Wednesday, March 5.)
G/T Mekhi Becton
The former first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft came to Philadelphia after four years with the Jets looking for a chance. He got that chance when Head Coach Nick Sirianni and Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach Jeff Stoutland moved him from tackle to guard, where he helped the Eagles set a franchise record with 3,048 yards on the ground.
(UPDATE: Becton signed a two-year deal with the Chargers on Friday, March 14.)
DB James Bradberry
Released by the Eagles on March 12 at the start of free agency. Bradberry earned All-Pro honors as part of the Super Bowl LVII defense in 2022, but missed all of the 2024 campaign due to injury.
LB Oren Burks
Burks was signed by the Eagles to a one-year deal in last offseason's free agency period and came up big after Nakobe Dean went down with a season-ending injury in the playoffs. He produced 19 tackles (12 solo) and two forced fumbles, including one to start the Wild Card Round against Green Bay on special teams during the Super Bowl run. The former third-round pick will enter Year 8 when the 2025 season begins.
(UPDATE: Burks signed a two-year deal with the Bengals on Monday, March 17.)
WR Parris Campbell
Campbell spent time on both the practice squad and active roster for the Eagles in 2024, finishing on the active roster for the Super Bowl. The veteran receiver caught six passes for 30 yards and scored a touchdown in Week 4 against Tampa Bay this season.
(UPDATE: Campbell agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Cowboys on Saturday, March 15)
T Le'Raven Clark
Clark was placed on Injured Reserve last May after being signed to a reserve/future contract in January of 2024. The eighth-year player did not play in a game in 2024 for the Eagles but appeared in four games with one start when he played in Philadelphia in 2021 at right tackle.
WR/PR Britain Covey
The only Restricted Free Agent on this list, Covey played in just five games in 2024 for the Eagles after spending most of the year on Injured Reserve with neck and shoulder injuries. In 2023, the former Utah Ute led the NFL with a career-high 417 punt return yards and finished as the only player with multiple 50-yard returns (2).
(UPDATE: The Eagles did not tender Covey, so he is now an Unrestricted Free Agent.)
T/G Jack Driscoll
Driscoll suited up in 13 games in 2024, starting one for the Eagles before being placed on Injured Reserve in January. The former Auburn Tiger was signed to the active roster from the practice squad in October after starting the season in Miami.
RB Kenneth Gainwell
Gainwell has been a strong backup during his time in Philadelphia, making the most of his opportunities. In 2024, the 5-foot-9 back rushed for 290 yards and a touchdown on 75 carries. Gainwell led the Eagles in both rushing yards (181) and scrimmage yards (236) during the 2022 playoff run.
(UPDATE: Signed a one-year contract with the Steelers on March 13.)
T Fred Johnson
Johnson suited up for all 17 games in 2024, making six starts at tackle (five at left, one at right) and being ready when needed. The sixth-year player has spent the last two seasons in Philadelphia, contributing on both offense and special teams.
(UPDATE: Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars on Wednesday, March 19.)
LS Rick Lovato
A two-time Super Bowl Champion, Lovato has been with the Eagles since 2016. Lovato earned Pro Bowl honors in 2020 and long snapped for Jake Elliott, who registered the highest field goal percentage (93.8 percent) in Eagles history in 2023 and has only missed one postseason field goal attempt in 23 tries.
CB Avonte Maddox
Maddox served primarily as a backup in 2024 but has been on five playoff teams during his first six seasons as an Eagle. He came up with a big fourth-down pass breakup in Super Bowl LIX on a pass intended for DeAndre Hopkins. Maddox has played in 81 games with 41 starts for Philadelphia, accumulating 264 tackles (194 solo), 36 PDs, and eight forced fumbles.
(UPDATE: Maddox signed a one-year deal with the Lions on Friday, March 21.)
CB Isaiah Rodgers
The Tampa, Florida native stepped up whenever his name was called upon for the Eagles this season. Rodgers was the next corner up when Big Play Slay and Quinyon Mitchell missed time on the outside and was included in nickel and dime packages as well. The first-year Eagle returned eight kickoffs for 225 yards on special teams in 2024.
(UPDATE: Rodgers agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the Vikings as free agency began on Wednesday.)
CB Big Play Slay
The team captain and mentor was released on March 12 as as free agency officially opened. Acquired in one of the best trades made by the Eagles in recent memory, Slay earned three Pro Bowl selections in Philadelphia since 2020 and started for two No. 1 passing defenses. He exits the city as a Super Bowl Champion.
(UPDATE: Signed a one-year deal with the Steelers on March 13.)
OLB Josh Sweat
The 27-year-old led the Eagles with eight sacks this season and continued his dominant play into the Super Bowl, where he had a career-high 2.5 sacks and three quarterback hits. A fourth-round drack pick by Philadelphia in 2018, Sweat is at the end of the three-year contract extension he signed in 2021.
(UPDATE: Signed a four-year deal with the Cardinals on March 13.)
TE C.J. Uzomah
Uzomah spent time on both the practice squad (used all three elevations) and active roster for the Eagles this year, playing in seven games with three starts. His first season in Philadelphia was cut short after being placed on Injured Reserve on January 1. The 10th-year veteran brought a ton of experience and leadership to the tight end room in 2024.
DT Milton Williams
The fourth-year player out of Louisiana Tech made strides this season, posting five sacks and a forced fumble. In Super Bowl LIX, Williams completed a strong season with one of the best games of his young career, coming away with two sacks, two tackles for loss, and a strip of Patrick Mahomes that led to a fumble recovery. – Written by Liam Wichser
(UPDATE: Signed a four-year deal with the Patriots on March 13.)
