A Message About HopeLine

"Verizon Wireless' Commitment To Preventing Domestic Violence and Helping Local Victims"

Domestic violence affects one in four women and one in seven men. If you are reading this, you can probably think of someone in your life who has been affected by this horrific issue in some way. I want to reinforce my commitment – and Verizon Wireless'– to ending this epidemic. It is imperative that we join together locally and regionally with other corporate citizens, like the Philadelphia Eagles, and individuals alike to truly make a difference and pass along hope.

One simple way to help is to participate in the HopeLine from Verizon Wireless program. As Verizon Wireless' primary philanthropic focus since 2001, HopeLine connects victims and survivors of domestic violence to the vital resources they need. HopeLine collects no-longer-used cell phones and accessories and turns them into support for domestic violence organizations nationwide. HopeLine has collected over 10 million phones and provided over $18 million in cash grants. Verizon Wireless customers have provided over 151,000 phones to victims and survivors of domestic violence.

You can support local victims of domestic violence by sending a message of hope on Twitter using the hashtag #EaglesVZWHope. Follow along with @VZWSheldon and @Eagles for inspiration. However you choose to participate, know that your contribution will make a difference in the life of someone affected by domestic violence. We are proud to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles to pass along hope, and hope you will, too.
