INDIANAPOLIS -- In addition to new head coach Chip Kelly, there is an entirely new staff working under Kelly in Philadelphia. Kelly culled the college ranks to assemble a majority of his staff and those coaches have worked with a number of prospects who are participating in the NFL Scouting Combine.
One of those coaches is quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor who tutored Virginia offensive lineman Oday Aboushi. At Virginia, Lazor was the offense coordinator. Aboushi described Lazor as "definitely a gift to have on any coaching staff."
"I was lucky enough to have him for three years at the University of Virginia. What he brings to the table is enough to do it all," said Aboushi. "He's not a yell-scream guy. He'll talk to you. He'll explain things to you. He's a real smart guy. He really gets the game well. He's extremely, extremely intelligent which it comes to preparing for defenses."
Aboushi's favorite memory of playing for Lazor was a 14-13 win over No. 23 Florida State in November 2011.
"The drive he called on the winning touchdown is what sealed my faith in him," Aboushi said.
