At halftime, the Eagles lead the Denver Broncos, 31-9. Philadelphia controlled the game at both ends limiting the Broncos to three field goals while putting up a season-high 31 first-half points.

Running back Jay Ajayi put the finishing touches on an impressive opening half with his first touchdown as an Eagle on a 46-yard rushing score along the left sideline, which brought the fans at Lincoln Financial to their feet. Quarterback Carson Wentz threw three touchdowns in the first half.

The Broncos took the early 3-0 lead with a 52-yard field goal, but the Eagles answered quickly. After faking a handoff to Ajayi, Wentz made a running throw to Alshon Jeffery along the sideline for a 32-yard touchdown with 6:30 to go in the first. Jeffery faked out Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib at the line of scrimmage before beating him over the top for the score. Kicker Jake Elliott tacked on a 47-yarder during the next drive to put Philadelphia up, 10-3.

Thanks to the defense, the offense would again find themselves in scoring territory. Cornerback Patrick Robinson intercepted Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler at the Denver 32 and returned it to the 15. Rookie running back Corey Clement darted up the middle for Philadelphia's second touchdown of the afternoon on a short 15-yard dime from Wentz to put the Eagles up 17-3. Tight end Trey Burton added to the lead midway through the second on a 27-yard touchdown reception from Wentz.
