Considering that he had knee surgery only eight months ago and was able to play the entire season opener without any problems, right guard Stacy Andrews feels like he's made great strides. But Andrews said he still has a lot to work on as far as adjusting to the Eagles' technique, and as a result, Andrews will be splitting time this week with Max Jean-Gilles.
Andrews said Jean-Gilles will start against the Saints, but he expects to see plenty of action as well.
"Whatever it takes for us to win," Andrews said. "I know I still have a ways to go as far as learning the technique and everything that (offensive line coach) Juan (Castillo)'s teaching, and after that I'll be fine."
Andrews said that he and Jean-Gilles were supposed to rotate last week as well, but Jean-Gilles left the game with an injury.
"I still feel like I'm ahead of the game," Andrews said. "I didn't get an off-season in with Juan (Castillo) as far as learning the technique and everything.
"I'm still short of a year (since the surgery). I really can't put a percentage on (how my knee feels) but it's feeling real good. It really hasn't been bothering me at all ... I was blessed to play a full game last week and not have any setbacks."
An upbeat Andrews said he considers the rotation between himself and Jean-Gilles as temporary step back in order to move forward.
"It's not a punishment type of thing at all," he said. "As far as me getting the technique down in pass protection, once I get it down it's all gravy."
