Any Deadline Deals For Eagles?

The NFL's trade deadline is 4 PM on Tuesday. After getting a win on Sunday to improve to 2-4 on the season, will the Eagles make any moves to alter the roster? Head coach Andy Reid said he "wouldn't be surprised either way."

"I'll tell you, everybody's calling everybody right now. That's what takes place. So to tell you that we haven't talked to anybody, I can't tell you that," Reid said. "People, that's what they're doing now, and they've been doing here for a little bit."

Last year, it wasn't an 11th-hour deal, but the Eagles acquired running back Jerome Harrison from Cleveland in exchange for another running back in Mike Bell. That trade took place six days before the deadline. In 2009, the Eagles traded for linebacker Will Witherspoon at the deadline when they sent wide receiver Brandon Gibson and a draft pick to St. Louis in return.

The Eagles already have 11 draft picks in store for 2012 including each of their own in the seven rounds and an additional second-round selection. If they acquired a player, one of the challenges would be assimilating him to a new team and possibly a new scheme in a short amount of time.

"We'd just have to evaluate who it is and what system they're coming from," Reid said. "There are things that you look at there. I like the guys we have, but at the same time, we're always looking to get better."
