C.J. Gardner-Johnson is the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following his two-interception performance in the NFC East Division title-clinching 41-7 rout of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

It is the first weekly honor of Gardner-Johnson's career. He is the fourth Eagle to take home such an award this season, along with running back Saquon Barkley (four-time Offensive Player of the Week), linebacker Zack Baun, and punter Braden Mann.

Baun also notched his first career NFC Defensive Player of the Week award this season against Dallas, following the 34-6 win in Week 10.

Here are some other notes from Gardner-Johnson's award-winning performance:

• His 69-yard interception return for a touchdown on the game's opening drive was the first touchdown of his career. It was the first pick-six on an opening defensive possession since Josh Sweat's 42-yard return for a score against Dallas on Christmas Eve in 2022.

• Gardner-Johnson was the last Eagle to record multiple interceptions in a single game, back on October 16, 2022, also against the Cowboys. The last Eagle to have two interceptions in the first half of a game was linebacker Jordan Hicks, again, against Dallas, on January 1, 2017.

• The pick-six was the longest by an Eagle since safety Sydney Brown's 99-yard score against the Cardinals in Week 17 of last season. The last time an Eagle had a longer pick-six vs. Dallas was Lito Sheppard's 102-yard return off of Drew Bledsoe in 2006.

For the season, Gardner-Johnson leads the Eagles with six interceptions and is tied for second with 12 passes defensed. He also has 59 tackles, a forced fumble, and the touchdown.
