Friday's Injury Report

Tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle) and Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens (back) returned to practice on Friday.

Goedert declared that he's "good to go." He was a full participant and has no game status designation for Sunday.

Jurgens, meanwhile, was a limited participant and is questionable for Sunday. Landon Dickerson took reps at center this week in case Jurgens is unable to play.

"He's done it and he's solid at it," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Friday. "He obviously did it at a high level in college. We cross-train our guys. A ton of guys cross-train different positions, and that's where we are."

Quarterback Jalen Hurts (knee) was a full participant on Friday and has no game status designation.

"Just really trying to embrace the opportunity and take advantage of the opportunity," Hurts said on Friday. "Everybody's worked really hard this week and worked really hard all year to be where we are, so we just want to take advantage of it."

Hurts did acknowledge that he expects to wear a knee brace on Sunday.

The Eagles ruled out two players on Injured Reserve, who have returned to practice – wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) and defensive tackle Byron Young (hamstring).

Covey's absence means that Cooper DeJean will continue to handle punt returns.

Everyone else practiced fully on Friday and has no game status designations for Sunday.

  • WR Britain Covey (Neck)
  • DT Byron Young (Hamstring)

QUESTIONABLE

  • C Cam Jurgens (Back/Limited Participation)

Daron Payne doesn't practice again, questionable for Sunday

One of the most productive defensive tackles in the past few years might not be available Sunday for the Washington Commanders.

Daron Payne did not practice all week with knee and finger injuries. He's officially questionable for Sunday. That would be a huge loss for a Commanders team trying to slow down Saquon Barkley, who had 296 yards and four touchdowns in the two regular-season meetings against Washington and is coming off of the best playoff rushing performance in Eagles history with 205 yards and two touchdowns in the Divisional Round win over the Rams.

The Commanders have known that starting right guard Sam Cosmi will be out for Sunday due to the knee injury he suffered in the Divisional Round win over the Lions. Washington has been coy about who will start at right guard.

Cosmi was the only player ruled out by the Commanders.

In addition to Payne, reserve defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste (limited all week with a shoulder injury) and quarterback Jeff Driskel (missed practice with an illness) are questionable.

Three key defensive starters – defensive end Clelin Ferrell (knee), linebacker Frankie Luvu (shoulder), and linebacker Bobby Wagner (ankle) – were limited on Friday, but have no game status designation for Sunday. Friday marked Wagner's first practice of the week.

Thursday's Injury Report

Jalen Hurts was a full participant in Thursday's practice after suffering a knee injury in the Divisional Round win over the Rams.

The Pro Bowl player who snaps the ball to Hurts, however, missed practice for the second day in a row with a back injury. Cam Jurgens was not the only player to be sidelined. Tight end Dallas Goedert was out again with an ankle injury, while swing tackle Fred Johnson missed practice for personal reasons.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown is dealing with an illness on top of his knee injury, but he was a full participant on Thursday.

The only other Eagle who was not a full participant was wide receiver Britain Covey, who is working his way back from Injured Reserve. Covey, who also serves as the team's punt returner, has been out since the December 1 win in Baltimore with a neck injury.

Daron Payne, Bobby Wagner remain out of practice for Commanders

It's already known that Commanders starting right guard Sam Cosmi will be out for Sunday's game with a knee injury that he suffered in the Divisional Round win over the Lions. Cosmi would have matched up against All-Pro defensive tackle Jalen Carter on Sunday.

However, two key pieces of the defense missed practice for a second day in a row.

Defensive tackle Daron Payne and linebacker Bobby Wagner did not participate in practice on Thursday.

Payne is dealing with knee and finger injuries, while Wagner is battling an ankle injury.

Payne is one of the most productive defensive tackles in the league over the last three seasons with 19.5 sacks and 36 tackles for loss.

Wagner, the nine-time Pro Bowl and six-time All-Pro selection, played nearly every snap on defense for the Commanders in this his 13th NFL season. He's posted at least 100 tackles in each season.

It should also be noted that Wagner's tag-team partner at linebacker, Frankie Luvu, was downgraded from a full participant to limited on Thursday with a shoulder injury.

Relive the four NFC Championship wins in Eagles history. From a dominating win over the 49ers in 2022 to the first win in the 1980 season over the Cowboys, the Eagles have won some memorable title games – all at home. Will that trend continue Sunday against the Washington Commanders?

Wednesday's Injury Report

The Eagles held a walkthrough on Wednesday in advance of Sunday's NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni told reporters that both quarterback Jalen Hurts (knee) and cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) would participate and they did. If the Eagles held a full practice, both players would have been limited on Wednesday.

"Taking it a day at a time," said Hurts, who confirmed that he will play Sunday.

When asked if the knee injury would impact his ability to run on Sunday, Hurts explained that "every game is different."

Mitchell, who exited Sunday's win on the opening defensive drive, said that he's, "Feeling good, ready to go this Sunday. Just tried to make a tackle, kind of like felt something in my shoulder/neck area, just couldn't come back in."

Tight end Dallas Goedert, who has eight catches for 103 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs, would have missed practice with an ankle injury.

Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens, who has played every offensive snap of the playoffs, would have missed practice with a back injury.

Everyone else would have practiced in at least a limited capacity. Wide receiver/punt returner Britain Covey, who had his 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday, was a limited participant with the neck injury that landed him on Injured Reserve.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

  • TE Dallas Goedert (Ankle)

*Eagles participated in a walkthrough, so Wednesday's injury report is an estimation.

G Sam Cosmi out with knee injury

Sam Cosmi, who has thrived moving inside to right guard this season, will not play Sunday against the Eagles after suffering what Head Coach Dan Quinn called an ACL injury in the win over the Detroit Lions.

Cosmi suffered the injury in the second quarter and was replaced by Trent Scott, who is set to start.

This is a key matchup because the player on the Eagles' side of the field is All-Pro Jalen Carter, who has eight pressures, five QB hits, two sacks, and a forced fumble in the playoffs.

Scott typically is a reserve tackle, so it's not necessarily set in stone that he'll be the first guy called up on Sunday.

Two other key defensive players did not practice due to injury on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Daron Payne (knee/finger) and linebacker Bobby Wagner (ankle).

Here's the full breakdown of who practiced and who didn't for Washington on Wednesday:

  • G Sam Cosmi (Knee)
