The Eagles are one step closer to getting another familiar target back in the lineup for quarterback Carson Wentz.
The Eagles activated the 21-day practice window for tight end Zach Ertz on Monday. The three-time Pro Bowl selection suffered an ankle injury on October 18 in the Week 6 matchup against Baltimore.
Despite missing the last three games, Ertz is still third on the team with 24 receptions on the year to go along with 178 yards and a touchdown.
Richard Rodgers stepped up in Ertz's absence with 10 catches for 145 yards in the two games against the Giants. Dallas Goedert, who was also on Injured Reserve this season, had four catches on six targets for 33 yards on Sunday.
The Eagles also placed cornerback Craig James on Injured Reserve. James suffered a shoulder injury this past week and was out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
The Eagles have three open spots on the active roster. Left guard Isaac Seumalo will enter his second week under the 21-day practice window. Seumalo suffered a knee injury in the Week 2 home opener against the Los Angeles Rams. Safety Marcus Epps is also on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
