The Eagles claimed defensive back Andre Chachere from the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.
The 6-foot, 197-pound Chachere is 25 years old. He first entered the league with the Houston Texans as a rookie free agent in 2018 out of San Jose State.
At 6-0, 197 pounds, Chachere (pronounced SAH-shur-aye) was on the Texans' practice squad in 2018 before joining the Lions' practice squad and eventually the active roster later that season.
He spent the 2019 season on the Cardinals' practice squad and active roster before joining the Colts during Training Camp in 2020. He spent all of last season on the team's practice squad.
Chachere has yet to play in a regular-season game.
A first-team All-Mountain West selection at cornerback in 2016, Chachere finished his San Jose State career with 122 tackles, 14 for loss, 27 passes defensed, and defensive interceptions. He was a versatile chess piece, lining up at both outside and inside corner, safety, and linebacker.
Chachere is a native of Fresno, California.
