At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles trail the Giants 13-7.

The defense picked up two offsides penalties and a defensive holding call on the Giants' opening drive that set up a short 1-yard touchdown run from running back Orleans Darkwa. Rookie defensive end Derek Barnett blocked the extra point attempt which kept the score 6-0.

Quarterback Nick Foles anchored his first drive with 9:04 in the quarter and dropped back to hit Alshon Jeffery for a 12-yard gain. Plays later, Foles faked out defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and threw one deep to Torrey Smith who was unable to reel in the pass but drew a pass interference call on safety Darian Thompson that placed the Eagles inside the New York 10-yard line. Foles and Jeffery linked up again for a 3-yard touchdown to put the Eagles up 7-6.

The Giants responded on their next drive when Eli Manning connected with Tavarres King for a 13-yard score putting them back in front 13-7. On the Eagles' second offensive drive, Foles had the ball stripped from behind by Olivier Vernon but the ball was recovered by running back Kenjon Barner at the New York 49.

The Eagles will begin with the ball in the second quarter.
