The Eagles on Monday announced that they have released cornerback Craig James.
The 26-year-old James spent the past three seasons in Philadelphia and was a special teams captain in 2020. James was on the practice squad for the entirety of the 2021 campaign.
In 22 games (including playoffs) with the Eagles, James had seven tackles and another 11 stops on special teams. His first career pass deflection happened on the third defensive snap of his career at Green Bay. With just 28 seconds remaining, James knocked an Aaron Rodgers pass into the air that was intercepted by linebacker Nigel Bradham to seal the win.
The Eagles have 12 cornerbacks listed on the roster following James' release. The team reports for Training Camp at the NovaCare Complex next Tuesday, July 26.
