The NFL announced on Thursday that the Week 15 matchup between the Eagles and Seahawks in Seattle has been flexed to Monday, December 18 at 8:15 PM on ESPN/ABC.
The game was originally scheduled for Sunday, December 17 at 4:25 PM. With the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills squaring off at the same time, the NFL decided to move Eagles-Seahawks to a Monday night showcase. It will replace the Chiefs vs. Patriots game.
This will be Philadelphia's sixth prime-time game of the season. The Eagles are currently 4-0 in prime-time games and will play at the Cowboys in Week 14 on Sunday Night Football.
The Seahawks are 1-1 in prime-time games this season, including a 31-13 loss to the 49ers on Thanksgiving night. They will travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football this week.
Seattle is second in the NFC West at 6-5 this season. They have been led by running back Kenneth Walker III, who is tied for seventh in the league with six rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Bobby Wagner is second in the league with 113 tackles.
For the first time in league history, games for Thursday Night Football and Monday Night Football are able to be flexed. For games flexed to Monday Night Football in Weeks 12-17, the NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC, and ESPN) and announce, no later than 12 days in advance of the game, which game will be played on Monday night.
