Game Vs. Chiefs: Head Coach Andy Reid

On injuries sustained during the game: "Really there are no injuries because everyone finished the game okay. The guys who were a lit nicked up came out of the game early."

On the victory: "It was good obviously to get a win. I understand what Coach (Todd) Haley is doing with that football team. He's doing it his way, and he'll continue to get it the way he wants it. My hat's off to him. I've sat in that seat before and that's a tough position. He's doing some good things and good things will happen for him in the future. I thought (QB) Kevin Kolb had a good day with back-to-back 300-yard games. That's quite a compliment to the kid. It's always tougher in the second game, because obviously the team has had the chance to study you and give you a couple of different looks at something they might consider your weakness. I thought he handled it very well. (WR DeSean) Jackson and (TE Brent) Celek both played well. (RB LeSean) McCoy, for his first start, did a nice job with 84 yards (rushing). That can't happen unless the offensive line does a good job, so I thought they did well.

"Defensively, it was good to see the defense come out and play exceptionally well. They were flying around, and I thought the third down defense was exceptional. I just thought as a group, they swarmed to the football and did a heck of a job. Special teams were solid. There is always room for improvement, but I thought it was a solid performance. (WR) Jeremy Maclin had a chance to get back there and have a couple of returns for DeSean (Jackson), so it was a positive to see him do it in a regular season game. My hat goes off to the coordinators and coaches. They put together a good game plan all the way around and did a nice job of rebounding after last week. It would have been very easy for the team to hang their heads and not play the way they did today, so my hat's off to everybody for a great job."

On whether the ankle injury to (RB) Brian Westbrook worsened today, preventing him from playing: "It's not worse, but it just never got better at that point, so there was soreness in the ankle. There's not a lot of swelling, and I think he just has some inflammation in the tendon. I told (the media) that I thought he was going to be able to make it in the game, but we never got the soreness out of there. I don't think it's a long-lasting thing. I think this week coming up will be a good week for him to recover, and I'll think he'll be back after the bye week."

On what he feels is the best attribute of (QB) Kevin Kolb: "His command of the offense. It looked like he was fairly accurate today and poised in there. (Kansas City) tried getting after him like (New Orleans) did last week, and I thought he handled that part of the game very well. He's giving our receivers an opportunity to run after the catch, so that's a plus."

On what his plan was during the game for the use of (QB) Michael Vick: "We wanted to get him in and gradually get him into game-playing speed while knocking some rust off. I think we accomplished that."

On whether he anticipates (QB) Donovan McNabb will be healthy enough to play after the Eagles' bye week: "I think he will, but we'll see how it goes."

On whether he is surprised by the strong start to the season by (TE) Brent Celek: "I'm not, because I get to see him everyday. He's a good player and the quarterbacks trust him, which is important for any receiver out there. He's really worked on his run game also, and he's doing a better job there than he did last year. That's something that I thought he could improve on. The route-running part of it he's been good at, and he's just continued to improve."

On whether he had a set number of plays or a set percentage of ways that he wanted to use Vick during the game: "You can't do that. You just have to kind of roll with it. I didn't set an actual percentage or play count number, or anything like that."

On the play of rookie running back LeSean McCoy: "I thought he did a nice job. I thought he protected well and ran the ball well. They threw some different blitzes at us, and he had to come across the formation. I thought he played well all the way around and played a complete game. Are there things that I can find that he can do better after I watch the film? I'm sure I'll find something there, but he played well and he was aggressive carrying the football. He held the football a little bit tighter this week, which is important. He kept it nice and high and tight with leverage on it. I thought (WR) Jeremy Maclin for his first (start) too did well. He had some nice plays."

On whether it's exciting for him to have a number of young players at the offensive skill positions: "I'm glad to see that. During practice you look out there and you see a lot of young guys and young faces in that huddle between Kevin (Kolb) and Jeremy (Maclin) and (LeSean) McCoy and DeSean (Jackson). Those are young guys, and really the offensive line isn't very old either. That's a plus and a compliment to our personnel department too. You can give them a pat on the back."

On whether WR DeSean Jackson has matured in his second season: "I think he's done a great job. That play he made today (64-yard touchdown reception), that ball was a bit behind him and he was one-on-one with (Chiefs' CB Maurice Leggett). I just thought he did a heck of a job of pulling it in and then getting himself north and south. A lot of young guys you see them go sideways. In the National Football League, you can't do that because the speed is too great in the game at this level. He has matured with the way he approached training camp. He missed a few practices this week, but he doesn't miss practice. He comes out and works hard and he's a positive influence in the locker room and in the huddle."

On not using DeSean Jackson in the wildcat formation and limiting his punt return opportunities: "He didn't practice much this week, so we just kind of backed off of that part."

On whether DeSean Jackson took no Wildcat snaps and returned less punts to protect his groin from further injury: "He didn't practice much this week so we just kind of backed off of that part."

On Vick's emotions before the game: "I think he was excited. I think he was excited to get out there and play. I didn't sense any nervousness. I thought he was fired up and ready to go. That's what it seemed like on the field too."

On players stepping up when others get hurt: "They did. I expect the guys that have an opportunity to get in there and play and play well. I thought the guys did that today."

On whether it is a challenge for he and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg to call plays because the large number of offensive sets they have: "Well it's kind of fun. (Jokingly) You almost need an Ivy League education to do it."

On the reduction in penalties: "That was a plus. I think we had only one penalty on the special teams, I guess it was two penalties. We need to do better there, and knock those out."

On keeping three active quarterbacks and whether he plans on continuing to do that as the season progresses: "We'll see how Michael progresses here. If something were to have happened to Kevin early in the game then I would have put (QB Jeff) Garcia in there and let him go with the offense and then continue to bring Michael along the way we have been doing."

On Vick taking hits: "He's done this through his career. This is what he's done. When I talk about the speed of the game and getting back into the swing of things, you're going to take a couple of licks. You find out real fast how to get away from those. I think it was good for him. I'm not worried about it. I thought he caught up with the speed of the game today, which I thought was important."

On DeSean Jackson's celebratory dive and split into the end zone: "It looked like his groin was pretty good. That's what I take out of that."

On whether he has more confidence in Kolb now then he did before his past two starts: "I think this has been great for him. I think it's good for the team to see that he can play in case something was ever to happen with Donovan that they have confidence that he can come in there and lead our football team."

On whether the weather affected his decision to play RB Brian Westbrook: "No."

On whether it is difficult to take Kolb off the field given how well he has done: "No, Donovan is the quarterback of the team. That's not a problem. I don't think it's a problem with Kevin and I don't think it's a problem for our team and I know it's not a problem for me."
