On how he felt coming into this game as compared to his first preseason game: "It really didn't feel any different. The only difference was that this game counted towards our record. The atmosphere was great and I was excited to be out and I just enjoyed the moment, soaked everything in."
On how he felt he played: "I think I played fairly well. I think I made good decisions with the plays that I had. I missed one ball across the middle. I feel like I could have hit that. I guess I just have to make sure I keep my arm warm on the sideline so when I go in there I'm not cold. Other than that, I made good decisions with the ball. My focus primarily was to be smart and not turn the ball over."
On whether or not he is concerned about taking hits in the future: "I've taken plenty of hits before and I still feel like I can take a hit. I got rocked a couple of times real good and I was able to get up from it and keep moving. That's what is going to happen running this kind of offense that we're running with me in the game. It's just football and I can go out there and take those shots. If they're limited, then I think I can do it for sixteen weeks."
On how he is able to balance his desire to contribute a lot on the field when he was only in today's game for 11 plays:"It is definitely a different scenario. It's hard. I've never been in this situation before. So the thing I tell myself is to stay warm, try to stay loose and try to stay in gear so when my number is called, I'm into the game and I'm in tune with what's going on with the offense and I can go out there and play within the framework of the offense. It's a different role. It is what it is."
On whether this was a small look into the plans the Eagles have for him in the future: "Yes, it was a very small look. We have so much still for the future. We just wanted to go out there and get some looks and see how they were going to play and not tip our hand to what we really wanted to do with this Wildcat thing. We've got a lot of different variations and it's going to be exciting and I just want to contribute."
On whether he played as much as he thought he would: "Yes. That was the approximate amount of snaps that I thought I was going to play. I can't really be out there full-time. In a 12-play drive, I can't be out there five or six plays. It takes away from the rhythm of the offense. It was important for (QB) Kevin (Kolb) to get going and stay in rhythm so that's why were in and out every other play, every other possession."
On what he was thinking just before the start of the game: "I'm thinking about everything that I've been through. I'm thinking about what it took to get back to this point. I'm thinking about my grandmother (Caletha Vick), who I lost (while I was) in prison and what she would think. The last time I saw her, I was turning myself in to Fort Leavenworth. There were a lot of things running through my head. I know she would have been proud of me. I know she's still proud of me and she's the reason I'm going to keep pushing. My ambition to be great is going to grow stronger and stronger because I know that's what she wants."
On what, in his mind, he said to his grandmother today: "I made it back, Oma. I made it back. This time I won't let you and the family down. I know what she wants me to do and that's to be the best man that I'm supposed to be and work at it."
On how important this first step back was, playing in the regular season: "It was a very big step. It was a big step for this football team, first of all, to get to two and one. We feel like we're a good football team. We know we're a good football team so for us to come out and play the way we did, I think it is gratifying for the coaches. At the same time, we need to keep it up; it's a long season. We need to get some guys back and get ready to go."
On whether he feels he needs to keep up with the playbook during the bye week: "Definitely. I think this week is going to be valuable for me. It's an opportunity for me to get on the book, continue with my workouts and continue to get my body back to feeling 100%, which I think is still going to take a while but I'm progressing, not regressing which is the big thing. This time is going to be a valuable time for me."
On whether he was nervous going into the game:"Yes. I would be lying if I didn't say I was nervous. Usually I'm not the type of guy to get nervous. I think that the whole situation did cause some butterflies but it's a good thing because I was able to come out and stay relaxed."
On how he balances his desire to get back to a starting role with what the team needs: "I've just got to keep working hard every day at practice. I can't make the determination on what happens with the quarterback position. We have our guys in place. It's Donovan (McNabb), then Kevin (Kolb), then maybe me or maybe Jeff (Garcia). We've just all got to keep working hard, stay determined, stay committed, and keep preparing ourselves as if we are all going to play."
On whether he felt as though this was a game where he was trying to get the rust knocked off: "Yes. Just to go out there and get the jitters out of the way, get knocked around a few times. It will be a totally different feeling to come back against Tampa because I don't feel like all eyes are going to be on me. That's how I felt today, which is normal and that's the way it's going to be throughout the rest of my career. So, I think to go out there today and knock the rust off and get the jitters out was a good feeling."
On whether he thinks that 10-11 plays is what he can expect to play: "I think 10-11 pays is ideal, depending on the flow of the game and the outcome of the game at that point in time. Some games are going to be different. Some games it's going to be a defensive battle, some games are going to be a shootout. So, that's going to be part of the determining factor of how much we run the Wildcat. So, will this be effective or ineffective? It still remains to be seen."
On what it was like to meet (former Eagles QB) Randall Cunningham: "It was awesome. I've met Randall before and talked to him briefly. I had a chance to talk to him for a while yesterday. He's a great guy. He's played this game, played this position and is very mindful of the quarterback role. So, I picked his brain a little bit but it was good to see a guy who has a similar type of style that I have. It's just good to talk to him. Things were a lot different back then. It's very complex now but pretty much the same kind of situation."
On whether or not there were any surprises today, either on or off the field: "I pretty much saw everything that Kansas City was going to do. I wouldn't say that everything they did was vanilla. It was somewhat complex but somewhat similar to a lot of the looks I've seen on a 3-4 defense. My goal is just to go out there and play within the framework of our offense."
On if he thinks he will get more snaps when McNabb returns:"I don't know. That is totally up to Andy (Reid) and Marty (Mornhinweg)."
On if he had the option not to hand off to RB LeSean McCoy: "Yeah it was an option. It was an option read, but Kansas City was coming up the field. They play a three, four, five. And, I try not to predetermine what I was going to do with the ball and just kind of play within the framework of our offense, like I said before. It was one time I had an opportunity to pull it and I did. And we still gained three or four yards, so it was a positive play, but those are the real tough gains that we are looking for. And every team doesn't play a three, four defense."
On what he was like to say to his fans after today's game: "I appreciate all the fans here in Philadelphia and all the fans I have out there in the world. I am pretty much just trying to doing whatever I can to get back in good faith with the public, with my fans and show them that I can turn this whole thing around. And I appreciate them for their support through thick and thin. And I just want to continue to go out and make the plays and be a good citizen on and off the field."
