DT Cullen Jenkins
On the potential shutout: "Once again, they avoid a shutout on us by scoring late. I think we played a heck of a game defensively. We were in a lot of positions out there where we could have folded, with field position or different things that put is in a little adversity. I think it was huge for us. Last game the offense carried us through. In this game we knew coming in that we needed to have a better performance. … We came out and we did that. We played pretty strong and held them to 7 points. You do that, you have a good chance of winning."
On how they found out the Giants won: "They kept showing little highlights (on the video board) through the game. They kind of make you be interested in it and focus on it. It is one of those things coming in, we knew the Giants could win. But if they do win, we have to approach this game that we have something else bigger to play for than just our playoff hopes. To play for ourselves, to play for the coaches, for the organization. We still can avoid a losing season here, winning out. We had something bigger to play for today than just playing for our playoff hopes, and it showed.
On how they responded to the Giants win: "We discussed it. Dang. But we had to move on. We had to put it in the back of our minds. Understand that we still had to play to improve as a team. We are playing to build up confidence. Confidence can be huge as far as carrying it into the last game and next year into the off-season. We just have to stay on."
LB Jamar Chaney
On how the found out the Giants won: "You could tell when they took Romo out of the game, I'm pretty sure he wasn't hurt or anything. They took Romo out of the game, then we knew that the Giants had won."
On why the Eagles didn't make the playoffs: "It wasn't consistent. If you take the season as four quarters, we pretty much played the way we expected ourselves to play in the last quarter. Well, except the Washington game because we haven't played that one yet. We showed promise all season, the offense and the defense. We started getting more turnovers at the end of the season. And we stopped turning the ball over at the end of the season. Most teams when you win the turnover battle and not turn the ball over on the offense you are going to win the game. Especially with the kind of talent we have. When we started doing those things these last couple games."
On how the team has progressed this season: "I think we are doing pretty good right now, but if you ask me that question after the Washington game, I'll give you a better answer. … We are trying to end the season on a good note, and go into next year with a 4-game winning streak."
CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
On how the team is playing now: "You can sense these last few games a different attitude between guys, the coaches, the way everybody is approaching it. We want to finish out a winner."
On missing the playoffs: "It kinda hurts. The talent we have on this team, and the way we are starting to play and how we will finish, it is like what we are playing for. Going out 0.500, not going out on a losing record. We still have a lot to play for, just for ourselves."
On the high expectations at the beginning of the season: "We are finishing strong, and are showing the fans and everybody else what the true Eagles could have been. What we could have been doing at the beginning of the season. It just took a while to get there. We take that into the offseason and don't look back."
LB Casey Matthews
"Our confidence has been pretty high. It is just a matter of executing and everybody doing their jobs. Right now, we are clicking. It is just getting a little too late. We still have one more game and we look to finish strong."
On why the team didn't make the playoffs: "I feel we didn't come together as a unit until later in the year. That's one thing I did notice. Without OTAs in the offseason, you weren't able to get to know these guys, to know who was playing next to you. We showed flashes of being a good defense, yet we weren't consistent. That's basically it. Consistency."
On the team playing on despite the Giants win knocking them out of the playoffs: "We are not going to give up. That is basically what it is about. Obviously it is a tough thing that the Giants won. But we weren't just going to roll over. We were still going to show what type of team we are, and keep it going into next week against Washington."
