On if there is a pattern of coming to Washington and getting a win, and if it was expected: "First off, I would like to thank God, for the opportunity to come out and play. I also want to give the Redskins a lot of credit; they are a good football team and a very tough defense. To answer your question, we didn't think it was going to be easy. We didn't think it was going to be an opportunity to come in and do the things we did last year, that wasn't going to be the case. We just wanted to come in and put a complete game together, all three phases of the game. I think our offense line played well, I think our defense played very well. And I am very proud of our guys for sticking it in and fighting and obviously we thought of some things to do better and put more points on the board. And as I said before, the Redskins have a great defense. I'm glad to just come out with a victory."
On what happened to him on the play he was shook up: "I got hit and I had some dirt in my eyes and I really couldn't see. For some reason it got through the shield, I guess it came up under my helmet. But it was really no big deal, just wanted to get myself together for the second half."
On how he cut down on the turnovers: "Well I think the turnovers have really ended us in the last couple of weeks. I told the guys to focus in the moment in protecting the ball. I saw every guy make a conscious effort to do so. When you turn the ball over, you don't win games. When you protect the ball and take care of it, you usually give yourself a better chance of winning and your percentages are higher. We turned it over once off a tipped ball, but for the most part, we did a great job."
On if he anticipated the three-step drop being a big part of the game: "We got a little bit of everything, three step drop, five step drop, seven step drop and we try to incorporate that into the game depending on the flow and what is going on. To answer your question, I didn't think it was going to be that much, but it's good to use it when you know it's going to work."
On how they utilized Brent Celek and his blocking: "We wanted to do that for a couple of weeks, and each guy knows they will have his day to come out and be productive and you never know who it is going to be, just stay alert. Keep pounding away and stay with the game plan and never lose sight of what you are out there to do, and that is to accomplish one goal and that is to get the win at the end of the day, and I think Brent understands that."
On if he thought a loss would mean the end of their season: "We have been hearing that all week and I wasn't worried about that. We wanted to control what we can control. We love our Coach to death, we will go to bat for him each and every week. We believe in what he says. We could be 1-13 and everything that he tells us, we are going to go out and do it. We didn't focus on that. We focused on the win today."
On how this win feels going into the bye week: "It's always good to win, you go back and look at all the games, right now we should be in this position, I think we all know that. But hey, we are just going to take it one game at a time."
On the 15 yard personal foul call he got this game, as opposed to previous games: "I still get hit just as much as I did back then. I am not going to complain about getting hit late or anything like that. That's the referee's job to make that decision. If he thinks that, then he will make that call, and if not, I will just keep moving. I will not complain about that anymore and Coach Reid got on me about that."
On low number of points this game: "We got a win today. I don't even want to answer that question, but to answer that question – this is the NFL. This game is not easy. And you know like I know the Redskins have a good defense. And we put ourselves in the red zone twice. One time was an interception and the other time we did not score. It's going to be games like that. We put up 20 points early, it did the job. This is a tough game; it's not as easy as it looks from the sideline."
On the roughing the passer play in the endzone: "It started out as a disaster. I didn't think it would turn out to be a 15-yard penalty on them. I think the ref made the call because he knew I was trying to get the ball out of my hands and out of bounds – a play where I was trying to salvage the ball. When you have [Brian] Orakpo coming down your barrel you know you're about to take one."
On hope of division title still being in sight for the Eagles: "Absolutely. We just have to start from today. We just have to have the confidence each and every day – play one game at a time. We can't get too far ahead of ourselves. We have to focus on the next game, that's what's most important. We're going to enjoy this victory and this bye week – and start the season all over again."
On the game going Vick's way: "It was just one win. I think if we get the next one we'll get that confidence. But we definitely feel good about where we are right now. Obviously there's a lot of work to be done. We're committed to getting that done. I'm excited for the guys. I'm proud of defense, offense, special teams, my offensive line guys – the receivers made great plays when they needed to. I felt like I made the plays that I needed to make minus a couple."
