January 3
4:35 PM: The Eagles announced that quarterback Jalen Hurts (Concussion/Left Finger) is officially out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants and that backup quarterback Kenny Pickett (ribs) did not practice all week and is questionable. Tanner McKee worked with the first-team unit, although many starters are resting this week to get ready for the playoffs, and is prepared to make his first NFL start if called upon.
"Super excited. I feel very ready, very prepared getting a ton of reps this week which has been awesome just with our guys," McKee said. "I feel like we have a good game plan. Honestly, I'm really excited to go out and play football. I don't think anything's different as far as a preparation standpoint or anything like that."
Rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson has followed McKee's career since the two both were standout high school players in California. He's excited for everyone to witness what he's seen from McKee in practices all year long.
"He's prepared for moments like this," Wilson said. "This is nothing new, just go out there and do the same things that he has been doing. Just attacking the process in the same way."

1:30 PM: Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Friday that Jalen Hurts is "progressing through the (concussion) protocol."
With Hurts (concussion/left finger) and Kenny Pickett (ribs) on the injury report, that could mean Tanner McKee and Ian Book are the two quarterbacks available for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants.
If it is McKee and Book, Sirianni wants to see the same things not just from those two, but from all of the players who are suiting up.
"I want to continue to get better each and every day. That's been our mission this entire week for guys that are going to be playing in this game and guys that aren't going to be playing in this game is how do we progress? How do we get better? We're going through the week just like we would every other week. Expect guys to go out there and perform and play to the standard that we have set here," Sirianni said.
"Everytime they are out there on the field being evaluated, we put a lot of stock in how we practice and with the tempo that we practice with and the intensity that we practice with, so we feel like we get great looks out there. When you go out there, it's always full speed, but obviously where it's live (tackling), that's a little different, so great evaluation process for us on different guys." – Chris McPherson
9:00 AM: Good morning, Eagles fans! The Eagles will be wearing their all-black uniforms for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants. The Eagles introduced the black helmet in the 2022 season and sported the all-black uniforms for a thrilling 40-33 late-November win on Sunday Night Football over the Packers. Coincidentally enough, the Eagles opened this season with a black helmet (with white jerseys and black pants) in the NFL's first South American game, a 34-29 win over the Packers. – Chris McPherson

7:34 PM: We know the Eagles have had great success running the football this season – Saquon Barkley is the ninth player in NFL history to reach 2,000 rushing yards (he has 2,005) in a single season. But it has been more than Barkley on the ground for the Eagles. The team has 100-plus yards rushing in each of its 16 games this season (a club record) and the Eagles lead the NFL with 2,997 yards on the ground (a franchise record). Furthermore, the Eagles are 3 yards and one touchdown away from rushing for 3,000 yards and scoring 30 touchdowns on the ground this season (joining the 1978 New England Patriots). The offense is three rushing touchdowns away from tying its single-season mark of 32 touchdowns on the ground (set in 2022) and the 187.3 rushing yards per game are the fourth-most in team history (behind the 1948, 1949, and 1950 Eagles teams). – Dave Spadaro
5:10 PM: Dallas Goedert had his 21-day practice window opened earlier this week as he has been out with a knee injury for the past month since being injured in the win over Baltimore in Week 13.
While he doesn't know the team's plans for him on Sunday, he will be ready when needed, especially if it's in the Wild Card Round.
"100 percent," Goedert said when asked how confident he is that he will be moved to the active roster ahead of the playoffs.
"I feel really good. Really excited with where I'm at. Obviously, it's never fun to miss time, but we've got a lot of football left and I'm ready to get back out there with the guys," Goedert said.
As for this Sunday's regular-season finale?
"I'm going to let the coaches make the final decision, but I'm going to go out there and practice. I haven't played in four weeks, so if they want me to go out there and get a little bit of the cobwebs out, I'm good with that. I'm just taking it day by day. Trying to get my footwork good and my hand placement, things like that at practice so I can be ready either this week or next week if that's the case." – Liam Wichser
2:20 PM: How much does having some downtime matter to a player at this time in the NFL season? A whole lot if you ask six-time Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson.
"It's huge. Your body gets used to the schedule, the daily grind. Taking a weekend off, it gives you a chance to heal and gives you a little bit of extra energy the next week. I think I can speak for the majority of NFL players. We don't get much time off, and the time we do have, we take advantage of it. That's how we'll treat it," Johnson said.
"We know what's ahead of it. It's very physical and demanding and you want to be at your best. Nick (Sirianni, head coach) wanted everybody's input and we had a conversation (about playing on Sunday). Getting the record (Saquon Barkley, 101 yards away from NFL single-season rushing yards record) would be cool, but we decided to play it this way and I think everybody understands that. You look at the A.J. (Brown, wide receiver) situation last year (he was injured in the regular-season finale) and didn't play in the Tampa game (playoff game against Tampa Bay), so you try to learn lessons from past experience. If Coach was saying this week we were playing and we were going for the record, no problem. If he tells me to sit, no problem. I'll stand by it." – Dave Spadaro
9:00 AM: The NFL announced that six Eagles, including three first-time selections, were named to the initial 2025 Pro Bowl Games roster, representing the NFC: Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, and Cam Jurgens. Another dozen Eagles were named as alternates.

7:28 PM: Upon further review, quarterback Tanner McKee was pleased with the way things went on Sunday when he made his regular-season debut and completed 3 of 4 passes for 54 yards and touchdown tosses to wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
"We have unbelievable players on this roster and they went out and made great plays and that's what it takes," said McKee, a sixth-round draft pick in 2023 (188th overall selection). "There are definitely things I can clean up running the offense and communicating a little bit better and I'll definitely fix that this week and come out with a better product on Sunday."
Nothing has been announced as far as who will start at quarterback, but McKee figures to have a key role in the plan against the New York Giants. He knows what it means to him and to the team.
"Definitely super excited to step on the field and put my best foot forward and show what I've been working for all year," he said. "I think we're working hard to have a productive attack and get a win. That's the objective. We're all working together to get our timing together and work as professionals and play well. I know it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it. Very much so." – Dave Spadaro
6:25 PM: Dallas Goedert would have been a full participant in his first practice since suffering a knee injury on December 1. The Eagles held a walkthrough, so Wednesday's injury report was an estimation. Linebacker Nakobe Dean, who missed Sunday's win over Dallas with an abdomen injury, would also have been a full participant.

5:50 PM: On the same day the Eagles announced opening the 21-day practice window for tight end Dallas Goedert, the team placed tight end C.J. Uzomah on Injured Reserve. The 10-year veteran played 132 offensive snaps in seven games (three starts) for the Eagles this season. The Eagles have Grant Calcaterra and E.J. Jenkins on the active roster. – Chris McPherson
5:10 PM: As we found out earlier today, Head Coach Nick Sirianni told reporters the starters will be rested on Sunday against the Giants – including Saquon Barkley, who is 101 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record (2,105).
Barkley met with the media at his locker on Wednesday to discuss how he felt about the decision to give the starters rest with the Eagles being locked into the No. 2 seed.
"My reaction was kind of like I told my family, obviously, my family probably wanted it a little bit more than me, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is winning football games and winning the playoffs. So, I got a bigger goal in mind anyway," Barkley said.
"He asked me if I wanted to play, if I want to go for it. I said on Sunday, you know, I probably didn't care for too much for it. When I slept on it, it was like it was an opportunity to implement my name in football history. May never get another opportunity like that again, so I'm down, but at the end of day, I don't care (about getting the record) if we're putting the team at risk. He's the head coach for a reason, he makes the decisions, and whatever decision he wanted to make, I let him know if you want me to play, I'm going to go out there and make sure I get it, and if we don't, I'm OK with that too."
As the Eagles gear up for the playoffs, Barkley is feeling good and knows the rest will help.
"I think it's important because we haven't had a bye since Week 5, so we've been going at it since then. Won 10 in a row, lost one, then won another one. So it's like, I think the rest definitely is going to help rather than hurt us," he said.
"Me, personally, I feel great. If I had to go out there and get the record, I felt really good enough to do it, too. I made a joke to one of my boys the other night, my body doesn't feel like I ran for 2,000 yards, so that's a good thing. And got to give a shoutout to all the people that helped me feel like that." – Liam Wichser
12:36 PM: Head Coach Nick Sirianni provided insight into the team's plans for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants, with the Eagles locked into the No. 2 seed.
"We're going to rest some guys. There are going to be some guys that are resting. There are going to be some guys that are in reserve roles. You can't obviously rest everybody with the roster. That's our plan moving forward," Sirianni said.
When asked specifically about Saquon Barkley, who is 101 rushing yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson's all-time single-season rushing record, Sirianni said, "He'll probably be somebody that rests."
Sirianni added: "Obviously, it's a very special record that's been standing for a long time by a great player. It's a team record that everybody's involved in. You take and weigh all of those things, but at the end of the day, you just try to do what's best for the team."

5:31 PM: The Eagles showed their depth in the quarterback room on Sunday, clinching the NFC East Division title with star quarterback Jalen Hurts sidelined with a concussion. No. 2 quarterback Kenny Pickett made his first start of the season and his 30th in three NFL seasons and delivered 10 completions in 15 attempts with one touchdown, and also scored a touchdown on a Brotherly Shove. He left the game in the third quarter with the Eagles leading, 27-7, and then No. 3 quarterback Tanner McKee came in and completed 3 of 4 passes for 54 yards and a pair of touchdown tosses.
Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore was impressed with both players.
"Really cool opportunity for Tanner to have that chance," Moore said. "Showed his preparation that he's gone through each and every week of the season. That's the fun, challenging aspect to being a backup quarterback, because you don't know when your opportunity is going to present itself, and for him to take advantage of it, and obviously you can tell by the response of everyone who was fired up for him.
"I thought Kenny did an excellent job. I thought he did a really good job. There are a lot of things that go into the position as far as the run game mechanics and some of the protection stuff. I thought he did a really, really good job. He made some really good decisions. Obviously, we started slow and I've got to do a better job there, but he got into the groove and he had some big-time plays. For him to move and get the ball to Grant (tight end Calcaterra, on 34-yard catch to convert a third-and-8 play), the red zone throw to Smitty (DeVonta Smith, 22-yard touchdown) with the projection adjustment and all the things he did within that play I thought was excellent. To make that throw to Smitty right before half (49-yard gain) was a big-time throw there. There was trust, there was anticipation with that throw. I thought Kenny did a really good job." – Dave Spadaro
4:05 PM: The Eagles announced several moves to the practice squad. They signed defensive backs Tariq Castro-Fields and Mekhi Garner and defensive end Charles Harris. Find out who was released to make room for them.
3:12 PM: Jake Elliott handled kickoff duties for the first time this season in the win over Dallas and he did his job, recording five touchbacks and six kicks into the end zone on seven boots. Special Teams Coordinator Michael Clay on Tuesday at his weekly press conference why Elliott replaced Braden Mann.
"We have the luxury of having two guys that can kick off. We just felt the way the wind was going, Jake was a better opportunity for the direction and the location that we wanted. He did a great job keeping it out of (Dallas kickoff returner KaVontae) Turpin's hands – he caught the ball twice (Turpin had two returns for a 24-yard average). When you have two guys who can do that, we're going to use it in the best way possible."
That leads to the question: What happens moving forward? Who handles kickoffs in the regular-season finale on Sunday against the Giants and then in the postseason?
"You'll have to find out at 1 (PM on Sunday), I guess," Clay said. – Dave Spadaro
1:18 PM: Running back Saquon Barkley has 2,005 rushing yards, 13 touchdowns, four scoring runs of 60-plus yards and he has been durable and incredibly productive. But to Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore, the best part of Barkley being an Eagle is what he brings to the locker room and the team.
"The consistency that he plays with is obviously incredible, I think he's an A-plus teammate and one of the all-time best I've ever been around," Moore said. "I think the whole group really embraced him.
"I think that he has tons of fun and he brings a smile to everyone's face with the way he plays the game. Guys have a ton of fun playing with him, and the teammate that he is is what makes him really special. There are times when Kenny (Gainwell) makes a play in the red zone and the No. 1 guy who wants Kenny to score is Saquon. That's real and that's authentic and that's everything that Saquon is about. It's been fun to be around him." – Dave Spadaro
Noon: The NFL announced that safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his two-interception performance in the 41-7 rout of the Cowboys.
