Injury Report: "Players that are out: (LB) Akeem Jordan, (WR) Kevin Curtis, (RB) Brian Westbrook, and (WR) DeSean Jackson. Everybody else practiced today, did well. (DE) Juqua Parker tweaked his knee there, he bumped it and it's fine. That's not a problem."
Opening Remarks: "We look forward to the challenge of playing the Atlanta Falcons. We know it's going to be a great atmosphere for a football game. It's going to be loud and fast and everything else. That's the way our guys have prepared themselves this week. We play a good football team; we know that. I think our guys have prepared themselves well and again, I look forward to that challenge."
On how DeSean Jackson is feeling: "He actually felt pretty good today. We haven't got his test back today, but we'll get them back. That's where he's at."
On whether Jackson has had any headaches: "Yeah, he's had just kind of the normal headache. Normally they start reducing by today and that's kind of the way it's worked."
On what led to the decision to keep Jackson out of this game: "I just don't think he's ready yet. We'll wait until next week and see how he does."
On his confidence in WR Jason Avant at the flanker position: "Jason is a good football player. I know he's looking forward to playing on the outside. Most of the work he does is on the inside, so I know he's looking forward to doing that. (WR) Reggie Brown will also get some snaps in there so that's good for Reggie. Jason Avant I think will do fine."
On Akeem Jordan's health: "He's just not quite ready. He went out and he worked. He had a little bit of swelling yesterday, so we just backed off of him today."
On the need for other wide receivers to step up their play in Jackson's absence given that he's such a dynamic player: "DeSean is. I said this before with other positions, it's important when somebody goes down that that next person steps up and takes advantage of their opportunity and plays. That's how we'll go about doing this. I just expect the other guys to pick up where DeSean left off."
On whether he thinks the offense has a deep threat with Jackson out: "We'll see. We'll see how it works out. I can't sit here and predict things like that. I don't know the answer. Wait and see."
On Falcons QB Chris Redman: "I tell you what, Chris played a really, really good game last week. That guy when he is given the time he's something. He's a true thrower and he did some nice things on the move when he broke the pocket. They were designed plays, where he broke the pocket threw the ball. His accuracy both in the drop back game and on the move I just thought was something. You figure in there that he didn't practice. He came in cold off of the bench and did the things he did against Tampa and it was something to watch."
On whether T Shawn Andrews' rehab from back surgery will be different this year than it was last: "I don't think that was the problem. They'll will do what people do in the rehab, whether it's (head athletic trainer) Rick (Burkholder) or the people in California, they will do it the way they want that done through the doctor and what the doctor's expectations are each week and what his increases can be each week. We'll just have to see. Every back is a little different and we'll just have to see. The main thing is that he gets where he's comfortable and can function, whether it's on the football field or in life. Life ends up being the most important of those two for him right now. He just has to make sure that he gets himself back to where he's comfortable."
On whether Andrews will stay in California for his rehab: "He'll be out there for a little while until he can get it under control there."
On how TE Brent Celek's thumb is feeling: "He did pretty good today. He felt pretty good."
On whether Westbrook will be able to get back to football activity before seeing the neurologists in Pittsburgh: "We'll see. He's in communication with the docs there, Rick is, we'll see what happens next week there. He did have a good workout yesterday and felt pretty good. I haven't talked to him today, Rick has, I'll see him here afterwards. He did feel pretty good. That's a plus."
On the importance of the fourth wide receiver: "They've all played. They rotate in. If we have four up then four play. There's a chance (WR Jordan) Norwood is up this week and we'll just see how things go for him. We have confidence in him."
On whether Norwood will be activated: "Yeah, he probably will. Anything is possible from now until then with the roster."
On preparing to play in the Georgia Dome: "We used the noise today. It's loud there. We've played there before. They have a great crowd there. They haven't lost but one game in the last two years. They sure play well there. It's a great challenge for our guys to overcome those things."
On how playing in the Georgia Dome compares to other stadiums: "It's similar to New Orleans and Minnesota and some of the other indoor places. I can't give you decibels. Arizona was loud last year. I should just tell you it's loud. Your ears are ringing when the game is over, that's how loud it is."
