Head Coach Andy Reid: "Like everything else, this has been fast and furious, but good things have come out of it. I mentioned to you before that I thought [General Manager] Howie [Roseman] had a great plan for free agency and trades, so this is what we have here so far and it's a pretty good list. I think we know about [CB] Nnamdi Asomugha. He's one of, if not the best cornerback in the National Football League. He will be a great addition to our other two. He'll be a great addition to our cornerback corps and right now we have three good cornerbacks. It reminds me a little bit of when we had Al [Harris], Troy [Vincent], and that crew there with Bobby Taylor. We'll see how things go there.
"Jason Babin, a defensive end who you are all familiar with who had been here before. We will add him into the mix with our defensive line and we've got a pretty potent group there that's being coached very aggressively. Jason is obviously very familiar with the coach [defensive line coach Jim Washburn].
"Johnnie Lee Higgins is a wide receiver from the great University of Texas El-Paso, a place that's very dear to my heart. I had a chance to work there. He was from the Oakland Raiders. Johnnie Lee is a wide receiver and will be in the mix with our wide receivers and have a chance to work there. Donald Lee is a very talented tight end from the Green Bay Packers, and we're looking forward to getting him in the mix with the tight ends and get things rolling.
"The first that I'd like to do is congratulate and thank [General Manager] Howie [Roseman] from the coaches and myself for doing a great job along with [President] Joe Banner. They worked their tails off and put together with this phenomenal plan. They come out of the gates like wild men and attacked the issue. Neither one has had much sleep, but they've awarded our team and the city of Philadelphia with some great players."
