Head Coach Andy Reid

Opening Comments: "Alright, those players that will not practice today will be (T) King Dunlap, with a concussion, he's making progress. (WR) Jeremy Maclin with a shoulder sprain and the hamstring strain, again, he's making progress. The shoulder is probably a little bit worse than the hamstring. (CB) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with a high ankle sprain, and then (QB) Michael (Vick) with the broken ribs, will not practice today. (S) Nate Allen and (G) Evan Mathis will (practice).

"At the quarterback spot, both (QB) Mike (Kafka) and (QB) Vince (Young) will be out there working. We'll just see how the week goes. If Michael has an opportunity to play then Michael will play, and then we go from there."

On how Vick is today compared to Monday: "He's still sore. These next few days will tell, so we'll see, but he is sore today."

On what will determine who starts at quarterback if Vick cannot play: "We'll see how practice goes this week."

On whether Young is the top backup because he was put into the game when Vick came out: "We'll just see. We'll see how it all works out."

On whether Young and Kafka will split the practice reps 50/50: "Not sure yet."

On how they knew Vick injured his ribs on the second play: "Mike told us after the game."

On whether Vick knew his ribs were broken: "He doesn't have X-ray vision. He was sore, I guess. I'm not sure anybody knew. He didn't tell anybody, so he just played."

On the hit that Vick stayed on the ground after: "When I walked out, he was down, he told me that he had the wind knocked out of him. That's what he said. He didn't say anything about ribs or anything else, he said he had the wind knocked out of him. When he was out there he sounded like he had the wind knocked out of him."

On whether that could have been the hit that broke his ribs: "Whatever you want to write, you write. I told you the second play of game, what more do you want him to do? This isn't the game of clue, you know, I'm telling you the second play of the game."

On why he is hesitating to give Young all of the reps with the ones: "We'll see. We'll see what happens, you know, just see how the week goes. I'll let you know later in the week what we're going to do. See how Michael does."

On whether Young has played poorly: "Vince has done everything he's been asked to do. Vince has done everything he's been asked to do. That's not where I'm at right now, as far as naming somebody right now. Michael is going to keep working to go."

On whether Vick's rib injury is comparable to the one he sustained last season against Washington and whether it is more or less manageable: "I don't know, I think the next few days will tell. We'll have a better idea as things go on. We're not going to put him in any bit of risk out there, that's not what we do. We'll just see how the next few days go."

On what Vick is allowed to do right now: "We just have him resting."

On WR DeSean Jackson's comments: "I'm not even going there. I'm going to keep my side of it with the player, that's how I operate."

On whether he is concerned that this is Jackson not moving forward: "No."

On whether he thinks Jackson is focused: "You know what I'm moving forward on to is the Giants. That's a pretty important game against a good football team."

On whether he is worried about the possibility of losing the players: "I'm concerned right now about getting ready to play the Giants, and that's it. All the other stuff you guys can work with. My job is to get our football team ready to play the Giants. That's what I'm going to do."

On whether he is worried about losing the players this week against the Giants: "No."

On whether Vick's ribs are at the "sticky" stage as he's described similar rib injuries in the past: "There all a little bit different in different places. At times the player will feel the rubbing going on with the ribs. Michael doesn't have that right now. We'll just see. We take it day by day and we'll see how it all works out."

On whether he is concerned about his job security: "I'm concerned about getting ready to play the New York Giants."

On how he would characterize his team's chances of making the playoffs: "I'm not even thinking about the playoffs, I'm thinking about playing the New York Giants."

On whether he feels like the Eagles are going to have to run the table to make the playoffs: "I'm concerned about playing the New York Giants. That's it."

On how he would describe Young's grasp of the offense: "He's done a great job with that, he really has. He's worked hard to know the offense. Both those two have done a great job with it. With Vince being the newer of the two, I think he's done a heck of a job of learning."

On whether he has to prepare two game plans because of the injury to Vick and the uncertainty surrounding the starting quarterback situation: "We can run the same game plan."

On how much of the head coach's job is managing egos and personalities and whether it's been as big of a challenge this year as any of his other 12 seasons: "Part of my job is to do that, to manage the football team. Every year, I've told you, is different, and this is no more different than other years as far as challenges go. It's not more challenging or less challenging."

On what you can say to players to get them ready for the Giants and to get them to move past what's happened: "Focus in on the Giants, study the game plan, and practice hard, aggressive. Get ready for the New York Giants."

On what he can do to better prepare the team for the Giants the second time around: "Well we're playing the Giants so I'm not going to tell you what we're going to do different than the last game. Obviously, they have a good football team and did a nice job against us the last game, but there are some things that we can do different, and I'm obviously not going to talk about them."

On the benefit of repping two quarterbacks with the ones in practice: "We'll see how all that goes. I haven't put down who's going to get what on the reps. I'll talk to the guys about it when we go out to practice."

On the confusion that occurred in the fourth quarter between kicking the field goal or going for it on fourth down, and whether Young knew what down it was: "That was between (Special Teams Coordinator) Bobby (April) and I. I didn't do a good enough job of communicating it to Bobby so he held the guys and Vince has to stay out there when the team's out, so I've got to do a better job. That was my fault."

On whether Young was unsure about whether he was in shotgun or not on the play that he ran: "That play we can do from either gun or from under. He chose to go from the gun there."

On whether this is the most consistent he has ever seen Giants QB Eli Manning play at a high level: "Eli is playing very good football right now. He's played good football in the past, he's a Pro Bowl player. But he's doing very well right now, making great throws."

On whether Allen will start and who will be the other safety: "(S Kurt) Coleman is the other safety, and Nate will be the starter."

On how WR Steve Smith played and whether he will replace Maclin: "Steve is continuing to make progress, and that's the important thing. He's coming off a very serious injury, he's working like crazy to get himself back. I have no complaints with Steve Smith."

On whether Smith will replace Maclin: "Well (WR) Riley (Cooper) really, he plays that position, and then Steven plays the Z position."

On what happens during the course of a game when RB LeSean McCoy doesn't get as many touches as he ought to: "I get asked a lot of questions like that, is what happens. We're going to do what we think is best to win the game, and that's how we're going to go about it."

On why it was best not to give the ball to McCoy: "That was just the choice we made."
