Head Coach Andy Reid

Opening remarks: "Injuries here, (S) Kurt Coleman has a bicep strain, so like I told you after the game, he will have an MRI tomorrow. (DT) Trevor Laws was held out of the game with some knee tendinitis. (LB) Brian Rolle has a slight ankle sprain. (CB) Asante (Samuel) has a hamstring strain. (RB LeSean) McCoy has a slight ankle sprain, but he'll be fine. I know there was something put out there that he wasn't going to play, but that's not the case. (His comments) were more towards how many yards he thought he needed to break Wilbert Montgomery's record. Again, as far as the game goes, every win is a good win in the National Football League, so we're happy for the win but we're obviously disappointed about the outcome as far as the playoffs go. I take full responsibility for that, that's something that as a head football coach, if we could have pulled out another win or two, we'd put ourselves in a position where we would play for the (NFC East title) this week. We didn't do that, and again, I have to do a better job in that area. The thing I am happy about is the effort the guys put out, obviously the results of the last three games. We do have another game against Washington, and the obvious there is they are an NFC East opponent, a rival, if nothing else by the proximity of the two locations and the relationships the players have with one another. I know the guys will play hard and it will be a good football game. I appreciated the fan support we had at the game and I was asked after the game if that game really meant something. It was obvious that to the Eagles fans down there, the game did mean something, by their reaction. They were very happy for the football team as we came off the field. As far as this game coming up, with the playing time for the players, the players right now are going to play, the starters are going to play. Like I said, we're in this thing to play the best football we possibly can this year and this week, so that's the approach we'll take."

On whether he believes momentum can carry over from one season to another: "Every year is different. I don't want to contradict that, but I do think that there is a carryover with the players that are coming back. I think you've seen the camaraderie, the football team gelling over the last few weeks. I think you can carry that part over through the offseason and let that drive you into the workouts and also give you a slight picture of what you can possibly be with good, hard work the following year."

On whether not making the playoffs is explainable, or whether it is a serious shortcoming: "I'll never sit up here and make excuses; that's not how I operate, so I'm not going to start now. I'll take full responsibility for that. I think we all expected—players and coaches—to have a better record than we have today. So that's my responsibility, and to say anything less I'd be wrong saying that."

On how he can explain the downshift in expectations from Super Bowl the preseason to now: "I don't know about all the Super Bowl talk. Every year we shoot for that. It was no different this year. The reality is I have been asked a lot of questions about the youth of the team, so I'm telling you I think the young players have gotten better. It's not an excuse at all, that's not what it is. It's a reality that the players are getting better. I think we are coaching better, we're playing better, thus we have been winning more games."

On his thoughts about going three years without a playoff win: "Well listen, if you're shooting for the Super Bowl every year and you don't win a playoff game, then that's a disappointment - I know it is to our fans, our coaches and our players. So I understand that and the organization is all in it together to win games. We're all pulling to win games, that's what we do and the end result for every team, I think, in this league is to win the Super Bowl. So that part's a disappointment; however, you get older as a team so you put new players in. And listen, I've appreciated the growth that's taken place in some of the things I've seen. I have to do a better job at getting our guys to finish a game, win the game and so on. And these are things we can work on and I think we have. Those are important things we can take into the offseason and some of the things that we've accomplished down the stretch, here."

On whether he thinks the clock is ticking on his chances to win a Super Bowl: "I really don't look at that. When you're striving to win every game and to win a Super Bowl every year, I don't look at all of that stuff. So you just focus in on what you can do and try to get better every week, so that's my focus."

On whether he thinks back to the games early in the season and think about what could have been: "Well at this point you want to finish the season, and then you go back and you do your self-scouting evaluation and you end up looking back at things. Right now, I think you would make a mistake by doing that. I think you wait until you finish up the season. And when the players are in here Wednesday I'm going to ask them to do the same thing. There's nothing that's going to help you with the past, it's on to the Washington Redskins and you better focus in. I've explained that to the coaches and it's important that we do that."

On whether he would prefer the players to be upset about the blown opportunities or focus on the positives down the stretch: "I would take it with a glass half full and say you want to build on the positives and take it into the offseason and take it into this week and continue to get better. And that's something that you can control. You can't control something that happened in the past, (but) you can learn from it, you move forward and I think we've done that in some areas as coaches and players. So it's important that you focus in on what you have with the Washington Redskins."

On whether he will take into consideration resting QB Michael Vick and some of the other players in a 'meaningless' game: "Listen, this is what we do as coaches, this is what the players do as players, this is their profession. So to say something's meaningless, I don't think that's right. I think it's an opportunity to play another game against a good football team and make yourself better as a team and as an individual and that's what you do."

On whether he will play the starters all four quarters: "Yeah, you can't not prepare, if you're going to play you have to prepare to play four quarters and that's what you have to do. So that's what we're going to do."

On whether owner Jeffery Lurie has assured him that he will be back next season: "Listen, we haven't done that right now. Jeffrey's a competitive guy and wants to win every game, and I'm a competitive guy and I want to win every game and that's kind of where our focus is and so we haven't talked about anything other than that. That's where our focus is right now."

On whether he has any doubt that he'll be back: "Listen, I haven't even thought about that. My mind doesn't go in those directions. I control what I control and that's getting better as a football team, and so that's what we're going to do throughout this week."

On whether he has thought about whether he wants to be back or not: "I wouldn't know what to do without having these press conferences."

On talking about the young players and whether that shows he expects to be back: "I do talk about the young guys getting better, and that's what I talk about. I'm proud of them for doing that and not losing confidence in themselves and continuing to progress, and maybe that's coach talk, I mean, that's what I do. I haven't (gone) into the other areas, that's not what I've done. I'm here to teach and that's what I'm doing. I'm stating that the young guys have gotten better, made progress, and I'm proud of them for that."

On whether Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's injury situation makes him think twice about playing everyone this week: "My heart goes out to that kid because he's a great kid and a great football player. I'm not sure what exactly the injury was other than it looked like his knee got hurt, so I don't know what the results have been. I don't wish that on any player. I know the guys want to play, and so they risk that every opportunity they have to play. That's part of this game. If you go in thinking about that and questioning, whether you're a coach or a player, you're going to hesitate, and if you hesitate in this game you've got a problem.  So, no, I'm not worried about it any more than I would be at another time. They guys play, they play."

On whether this game is good for evaluation as the team moves forward: "What's ended up happening is that most of the guys have played in the games, so we've had a chance to look at a lot of the young players and veteran players that are in rotational positions. Most of them we have good film on, maybe with the exception of the third quarterback spot. Everybody else we've had a pretty good look at."

On whether defensive coordinator Juan Castillo will be back if he returns as head coach: "You guys are in a different place than I'm at right now. I've got another game left to coach and get ready for. My mind doesn't go in any of those places. You guys know what I think of Juan. I know you have to ask that question, but we are focused completely on the Washington Redskins."

On WR DeSean Jackson commenting that he would come back if it were up to him, whether he and the Eagles would want Jackson back: "Well listen, the last how many games he's done a heck of a job. He's playing very good football right now. I'm proud of him for that."

On whether he thinks there are any other players aside from RB LeSean McCoy, DE Jason Babin, and T Jason Peters that deserve to make the Pro Bowl: "I can't get into all that. The three that you named are deserving. I'm sure we have some other ones. We've got some guys that are good players."
