First-round draft pick Jeremy Maclin was in the area to sign ... autographs at Carl's Cards in nearby Havertown, Pa. on Wednesday.
Of course, everyone wants to know about the status of Maclin's contract - he is the lone Eagles rookie to be without a deal - because the rookies and selected veterans are scheduled to report for Training Camp at Lehigh University on Sunday. Maclin isn't concerned about the deal getting done because he "expects no problems between now and Sunday to get into camp."
"I've got good faith in my agent (Jim Steiner) to do everything in his power and I've got good faith in the Eagles to get everything together to hopefully come to a deal," Maclin told our own Dave Spadaro.
Maclin recently returned from Arizona where he worked out with Donovan McNabb and said that he "got a lot of good work in."
"This is a dream come true," Maclin said. "I'm looking forward to the process beginning."
The only two first-round draft picks to be signed to a contract thus far are Detroit's Matthew Stafford and New York's Mark Sanchez. In fact, many of the second-round picks still have to be signed.
