INDIANAPOLIS -- As Chip Kelly makes the transition from college to the NFL, the rest of the NFC East also has to adjust. At the NFL Scouting Combine, some of Kelly's new division rivals reacted to the Eagles' new coach.
"I know Chip from his days at New Hampshire and the tremendous job he did at Oregon," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. "We interviewed him at one point in New York. He's an outstanding coach. He's going to make it interesting."
The Dallas Cowboys are also familiar with Kelly. Dallas' new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin was the defensive coordinator at USC the past three seasons. Kiffin's units didn't have a whole lot of success against Kelly's Ducks. In the last three years, Oregon scored 62 points, 35 points and 53 points against Kiffin's Trojan defenses.
"Well, I don't know that many defenses had a whole lot of success against Oregon," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said. "If you look at their track record, they were pretty good week in and week out, year in and year out."
