The Eagles are on to the Divisional Round!
The No. 2-seeded Eagles defeated the No. 7-seeded Packers 22-10 behind four takeaways from the special teams and defense to move on to the next round of the playoffs
Here's how it happened:
First Quarter
- FUMBLE! Oren Burks laid a massive hit on Keisean Nixon on the opening kickoff return and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. recovered the ball at the Green Bay 28.
- TOUCHDOWN! Hurts stood in the pocket with time and delivered a strike in the back of the end zone to Jahan Dotson to open the scoring. It was Dotson's first touchdown catch as an Eagle since being traded to Philadelphia just before Week 1. (Eagles 7 – Packers 0)
- SACK! Nolan Smith got right into the backfield to blow up the Packers' 3rd-and-3 for a loss of 11 and force a punt with 6:10 remaining in the quarter.
- FIELD GOAL! After an 11-play, 57-yard drive, the Eagles settled for a 31-yard field goal from Jake Elliott to extend the lead to 10 with 19 seconds remaining in the quarter. (Eagles 10 – Packers 0)
Second Quarter
- INTERCEPTION! Darius "Big Play" Slay got in front of a deep pass intended for Dontayvion Wicks and picked off Jordan Love to give the Eagles the ball at their own 22 to open up the quarter. It was the first playoff interception of the 12-year veteran's career.
- Slay went to the locker room with six minutes remaining in the half with an elbow injury and would be questionable to return. Isaiah Rodgers would come in for him. Nakobe Dean was injured with 5:32 remaining and would be replaced by Burks. Dean would be ruled OUT for the game with a knee injury. Slay would return with 3:08 left in the half.
- The Packers got into Eagles territory after beginning the drive at their own 43 thanks to a 20-yard punt return from Jayden Reed. The Philadelphia defense held strong, as Green Bay's Brandon McManus, who kicked in college at Lincoln Financial Field with the Temple Owls, missed a 38-yard field goal to keep it a 10-0 game with 5:05 left in the half.
- INTERCEPTION! After nearly getting one on the play before, Zack Baun intercepted Love's pass in Philadelphia territory and returned it to the Green Bay 45 for a return of 16 yards with 44 seconds left in the first half.
Third Quarter
- The Packers found some life after Love found Wicks for a gain of 29 yards on a deep ball to get to the Philadelphia 30 with 8:17 to go in the quarter. After Quinyon Mitchell was called for pass interference on 3rd-and-13, the Packers moved up to the Eagles' 9-yard line. After another red zone stop for the Philadelphia defense, McManus knocked in a 26-yard field goal to put the Packers on the board. (Eagles 10 – Packers 3)
- TOUCHDOWN! Hurts found DeVonta Smith for a gain of 28 yards to get the Eagles into Green Bay territory before finding Goedert for a 24-yard catch and run which included a series of stiff arms on cornerback Carrington Valentine as he went into the end zone. Elliott, however, missed the extra point. (Eagles 16 – Packers 3)
Fourth Quarter
- The Packers opened the final quarter at the Philadelphia 1-yard line after a 31-yard run from Josh Jacobs. On the following play, Jacobs punched it in for the Packers' first touchdown of the day. (Eagles 16 – Packers 10)
- FIELD GOAL! After getting into the red zone, multiple holding penalties backed up the Eagles to the Green Bay 26. The Eagles got back to the Packers' 12, where Elliott knocked in a 30-yard field goal. (Eagles 19 – Packers 10)
- TURNOVER ON DOWNS! Trailing by nine with 5:03 remaining, the Packers went for it on 4th-and-3 from their own 41 as Love's pass went incomplete as Malik Heath could not stay in bounds after the catch.
- FIELD GOAL! Elliott put through a 32-yard kick to extend the lead with 3:12 remaining. (Eagles 22 – Packers 10)
- SACK! Smith picked up his second sack of the day, getting to Love for a loss of 3yards at the Green Bay 27.
- INTERCEPTION! Mitchell picked off his first pass of the year on a deep ball in the end zone to all but seal the win for the Eagles with 1:51 remaining.
