On his thoughts about the toughest adjustment with the short turnaround: "Game planning (and) just making sure that you know everything that's going on. I know we crammed everything in today but you just have to get a little extra study time in and I feel like everybody should be okay."
On how QB Michael Vick looked throwing the ball today: "Honestly, you have to ask (head athletic trainer) Rick (Burkholder) that, I wasn't really paying attention. I saw him throwing the ball a little bit but you never know. So (he's) a tough guy and I just put that in the hands of the training staff."
On whether it's hard to prepare not knowing whether or not you will start: "I mean, it's the same thing as each week. He's a tough guy and you never know with him, so you just have to prepare yourself, myself, as well as (QB) Mike Kafka, you know and everybody else on the team. So that's pretty much what goes on with that thing."
On whether he's gotten used to not finding out whether or not he'll be the starter until close to game time: "I mean, it's pretty much the same each week; even from Week 1, Week 2, you know it's just preparation, you never know what goes on and you always have to be prepared. So it's really nothing too different about it; the only thing is when the head coach tells you you have to start. So overall you just want to stay in the book and stay ready."
On whether it's hard to play Sunday afternoon and play again on Thursday night: "It's not really hard, I mean we're pros so guys have been through it (and) I've been through it down in Nashville; I think the guys said they played the Texans last year. So other guys have done it before. The only thing is the rookies, the young guys, I mean it's different for them but overall guys that have been here and played know how to adjust to it pretty good."
On his thoughts about the mood of the team: "I mean, guys are just working, guys are just working. We're definitely upset about some things, we have the right to be because we're all competitors and we love to compete, we love winning games, but at the same time we can't let that stuff drag us and now we have to get back to work because like I said, it's another game coming up this week, next week. So we just have to be prepared."
On whether there is a point where he has the mindset when he feels like 'the guy': "No, I'm just doing my job, basically just doing my job and just being there for my teammates and lead them out to battle and try to win a ball game. And that's pretty much it."
On whether he's using this opportunity to audition for other teams: "I'm not really thinking about that right now. I'm just, like I said I want to go out there and compete and lead my team to combat and make sure that I'm calling the plays right, adjusting and doing all of the different things from practice and bring it out to the game field. So that's pretty much all that's on my mind."
On whether it's difficult for the players to stay motivated with a 4-7 record: "It's not that tough. I mean, you saw the Giants go down last night, you know those types of things. So all we have to do is just take care of our responsibilities. I tell all of the guys that I've been in this situation before. You know, 0-6 and we ended the season just a game short of missing the playoffs. And then, the one year we did go. So we just have to continue to keep working and worry about ourselves and not worry about anyone else."
