Donovan McNabb acknowledged that it was tough to get into a rhythm Thursday night.
"It's good that we did it in the preseason," McNabb said in talking about sharing some early reps with Michael Vick. "We need to get the offense flowing first."
Despite some up and down moments with the offense, McNabb completed 21 of 36 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown.
Vick, meanwhile, was encouraging in his debut. He came in on the second play from scrimmage and completed a shovel pass to rookie LeSean McCoy for 4 yards. Vick later lined up in the shotgun and completed a 13-yard pass to Hank Baskett. Vick also ran the ball once in a variation of the Wildcat, but managed just a 1-yard gain.
"It was nice to get out there and get my feet wet," Vick said. "It was just like riding a bike."
Vick said he was appreciative of the nice reception Eagles fans gave him Thursday night.
"I just want to help this football team win," Vick said. "It's been a long journey for me. I just want to do it right this time."
Vick believes the sky is the limit for this offense.
"I was on the sidelines thinking about all of the things we could do," Vick said. "It's almost scary."
Said head coach Andy Reid: "It gives us a nice little wrinkle."
Reid said the starters will not play next Thursday in the preseason finale against the Jets. As for Vick, that will be determined over the next week.
