According to Bowen, the Eagles' vetting team will meet with Marrone in Pheonix, where they are also reportedly scheduled to meet with Oregon head coach Chip Kelly. It is unclear which interview is scheduled to take place first.
Marrone, 48, has been the head coach of Syracuse since 2009, during which time he's compiled a 25-25 record. He also has NFL experience as an assistant, most recently serving as the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints from 2006-2008. Earlier reports had suggested that Marrone was on the Eagles' radar.
It looks like the weekend will be a busy one for the Eagles' brass. Team officials are also scheduled to meet with Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy in Denver on Sunday.
