The Eagles reportedly saved $9.5 million of cap space with the release of offensive tackle Demetress Bell on Wednesday. Pro Football Talk reported late Wednesday night that the Eagles are carrying over $23 million from last year's cap into this year, allowed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which would indicate that the team would actually be over the cap right now if it wasn't for the carryover. The ability to carryover cap money is something that every team has taken advantage of this year, per Ross Tucker of Sirius NFL Radio, after teams opted not to in 2012.
Even with that cap space, the Eagles have to address free agency, the draft and possible extensions. Certainly, the Eagles could make other moves to open additional space much like the one they did with Bell.
