Reuben Frank of CSN Philly reported Thursday that Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei will visit with the Eagles at the NovaCare Complex 'at some point in the next few days'. The Eagles had already reportedly held a private workout with the projected first round pick.
Considered one of the top prospects in the draft, Lotulelei had 42 combined tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles last season for the Utes. Tony Pauline of USA Today ranks Lotulelei as the best defensive tackle in this year's draft class.
A heart condition prevented him from participating in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine, but several outlets have since reported that Lotulelei has been medically cleared.
The Eagles are also scheduled to meet with Florida State quarterback EJ Manuel, according to a report by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Manuel reportedly worked out for quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor earlier in the spring. Last season, the Florida State product completed 263 of his 387 passes for 3,397 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
NFL Network analyst and former Eagles scout Daniel Jeremiah tweeted recently that he has heard a lot of buzz connecting the Eagles to Manuel.
