The Eagles announced the following roster moves ahead of their walkthrough on Wednesday:
Opened 21-day practice window for WR/PR Britain Covey
Signed OL Cameron Erving and TE Nick Muse to the practice squad
Released DE KJ Henry from practice squad
WR/PR Britain Covey
Covey was placed on the Injured Reserve list on December 28, but he originally suffered a neck injury in the December 1 win over the Ravens.
The third-year receiver/returner out of Utah serves as the primary punt returner. Injuries limited him to five games in the regular season. However, he's had success in the playoffs. His third-longest return, a 27-yarder, came in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs as a rookie. In 2023, Covey was one of the league's best returners, leading the way with 417 total punt return yards while being the only player with multiple returns of 50-plus yards.
OL Cameron Erving
A former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2015, Erving (6-5, 313 pounds) has played in 98 career regular-season games and another three in the postseason. He was a member of Kansas City's 2019 Super Bowl Championship team.
This past season, Erving was with the Houston Texans in Training Camp and had stints on the practice squads of the Texans and 49ers.
Erving has experience at tackle, guard, and at center, so he can fill in wherever the Eagles need him.
TE Nick Muse
A seventh-round pick of the Vikings in 2022 out of South Carolina, Muse has played in 16 games in his three seasons, mainly as a practice squad elevation.
The 26-year-old Muse is 6-5, 252 pounds. Muse started his college career at William and Mary before transferring to South Carolina. In his final year, he started all 13 games and finished fourth on the team with 20 catches for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
DE KJ Henry
The Eagles released the former Clemson Tiger as part of their roster moves today.
A former fifth-round pick of the Washington Commanders, Henry spent time on the Eagles practice squad after joining the team in November, but did not see any game action.
Henry spent the first part of the season with the Cowboys, where he picked up a sack in one game. During his time in Washington, he played in 10 games as a rookie (three starts), accumulating 19 tackles and one and a half sacks.
