A little more than a week after the Eagles reportedly interviewed Brian Gaine, the Houston Texans' pro personnel director, the Texans promoted Gaine to director of player personnel, eliminating Gaine from the Eagles' personnel job search.
The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reported the Eagles' interest in Gaine on January 12.
Elsewhere, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers reportedly denied the Eagles' request to interview their director of player personnel, Jon Robinson. Robinson joined Tampa Bay last May after spending 12 seasons with the New England Patriots.
The rumored pool of targets for the Eagles' vacant personnel job has ebbed and flowed over the past two weeks. The Eagles have reportedly interviewed Chris Polian, pro personnel director of the Jacksonville Jaguars and requested an interview with the Miami Dolphins' director of college scouting Chris Grier. There is also reported interest in interviewing Scott Fitterer, the Seattle Seahawks' director of college scouting.
