Sincerely, Patience: A perfect love story for Valentine's Day

The love story of Patience Carter and Alex Murray is unlike any other.

After they both experienced a life-changing tragedy, love brought the two together when they needed it the most. Patience and Akyra Murray, Alex's sister, were both victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando in the summer of 2016. Carter survived despite suffering bullet wounds in both of her legs, but Akyra was the youngest of the 49 lives taken in the horrid mass shooting.

Three years after that devastating day, Patience and Alex were ready to take their bond to a whole new level through marriage. As Philadelphia natives and huge Eagles fans, Patience emailed the organization. She shared their journey with the hopes of having their wedding at the home of their favorite team.

"I had reached out to the Eagles and told them our story and how much we would love to have our special moment at Lincoln Financial Field," Patience said. "When they responded, things took off!"

The following months were filled with putting together their magical moment, captured in a three-part docuseries titled Sincerely, Patience, which is now available to watch exclusively at SincerelyPatience.com. With the help of the Eagles and corporate partners, the couple picked out their reception theme, flowers, entertainment, tuxedo, dress, wedding bands, and much more to make their wedding day perfect.

"I'm just so thankful for everyone involved in this process for giving me this endless smile that's never going to leave," Patience said.

The Eagles hosted an early screening of our new docuseries Sincerely, Patience at the NovaCare Complex.

Patience and Alex held a joint bachelor and bachelorette party at the Eagles' preseason game against the Ravens at Lincoln Financial Field in August just days before the wedding. The two welcomed their families and close friends to the game for a private party to celebrate their big day. Prior to kickoff, the couple experienced gameday from the sidelines.

"We had the opportunity to watch the players come out of the tunnel and warmup, which was so cool," Patience said. "Jalen Mills, Kamu Grugier-Hill, and Jake Elliott actually came over to congratulate us and took photos with us. We were not expecting that at all, and it was mind-blowing!"

On August 23, 2019, the couple showcased their love with support from the people closest to them on the turf at Lincoln Financial Field. With the sun shining over Philadelphia, Patience and Alex exchanged vows and became husband and wife at the 50-yard line.

"We already knew that it was in our destiny to be together like this, but to make it official is very special to me," Patience said. "To make it official in such a wonderful way with the Eagles, it just feels like our entire union is blessed."

From heartbreak to romance, Patience and Alex look forward to the journey ahead. The connection they made through the hardships cannot be broken and their ability to love each other has only made them stronger.

"I am extremely grateful for everything and everything that has happened to lead us to this moment we are in now," Patience said. "It is hard to understand, but I almost died. Then, I meet the man of my dreams, and I get married in the most magical way possible. It feels like a movie."
