TE Rob Gronkowski, Arizona | |||||
Pos. Rank: 3 | Grade: 2nd Round | Height: 6-6 1/2 | Weight: 264 | 40: 4.65 | Year: 3-Jr. |
The Good: Terrific pass-catching tight end who possesses a great deal of upside potential. Good athlete, quickly releases off the line into routes that easily gets downfield, creating mismatches in the secondary. Makes reception without breaking stride, easily catches the long pass downfield, and possesses reliable hands. Consistently extends to make the reception away from his frame, takes the big hit and holds onto the throw. Bends his knees and works hard as a blocker.
The Bad: Average strength at the point of attack. Back injury must be checked out.
The Verdict: Gronkowski is a play-making tight end who burst onto the scene as a true freshman and was productive the only two seasons he was on the field for Arizona. He offers a lot of potential at the next level in a variety of systems, and he should only get better as a physically matures. The health of his back will dictate how quickly he succeeds.
