The Eagles re-signed wide receiver B.J. Cunningham to the practice squad on Thursday, two days after releasing him from the active roster to make room for wide receiver/special teamer Brad Smith. To make room for Cunningham on the eight-man practice squad, the team released cornerback Marcus Burley.
A sixth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2012 NFL Draft, Cunningham, 6-2, 215, spent the majority of the 2012 season on the Eagles' practice squad. He then spent the offseason with the Eagles, was released during Training Camp because of a foot injury and was then re-signed to the active roster on October 14. Cunningham played in two games and did not record a catch. He is Michigan State's all-time leading receiver.
