18th Annual Hometown Huddle
In conjunction with the NFL's 18th annual Hometown Huddle, the Eagles and United Way joined Care partner After School Activities Partnership in a kickoff to celebrate its chess and Scrabble season.

For the 18th annual Hometown Huddle, the Eagles and United Way joined Care partner After School Activities Partnership in a kickoff to celebrate its chess and Scrabble season.

ASAP received the Hometown Huddle grant prior to the kickoff.

Children from ASAP's enrichment program convened at the School District of Philadelphia for friendly competitions of chess and Scrabble.

Punter Donnie Jones and kicker Caleb Sturgis joined the ASAP students.

Research indicates that the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. is the most dangerous time for children.

Nearly 40,000 youth are left unsupervised during those hours.

It is highly critical for young people to develop and cultivate hobbies through organized after-school activities.

ASAP aims to develop after-school activities to empower youth and strengthen communities in Philadelphia.

In the 2014-15 scholastic year, ASAP served nearly 5,000 youth in 363 weekly enrichment clubs.

The kids and Eagles players competed for two and a half hours during the kickoff event.

It was a successful 18th Hometown Huddle!
