The Philadelphia Eagles Community Quarterback Awards selects 10 area volunteers who dedicate their time to serving others.


Harris of Philadelphia, PA also received a crystal football trophy

Winner Betty Harris won a $5,000 grant for Betty Harris Homes, Inc.

Two runners-up were selected for the Community Quarterback award and they received a $2,500 grant for their organization. Sheryl Walker of Pittsgrove, NJ was chosen for her work with Soldiers' Angels.

Finalist Peter Eobbi of Philadelphia, PA works with ActionAIDS.

7 finalists received a $1,000 grant for the non-profit organization that they work with and a customized jersey. Robert Bennet of Millsboro, DE, who works with the Cape Sharks Pop Warner team, was one of those finalists.

Eckel thanked the voluteers and their families for the many selfless acts that they perform everyday

Community Relations Manager Julie Hirshey discussed the importance of volunteerism and the commitment the team has to giving back.

The other runner-up, Deborah Groeber of Glenside, PA, received a $2,500 grant for the Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
