From Player To Coach: Eagles Coaching Staff
Several Eagles coaches have NFL roots long before their coaching careers began. Learn about their time as players in the league.

Head coach Doug Pederson has a combined 19 years of NFL experience as both a player and coach. Pederson had a 12-year playing career as a quarterback in the NFL with the Packers, Dolphins, Eagles and Browns. During his time in Green Bay, Pederson was a backup quarterback for the Super Bowl XXXI Champions and also captured two NFC Championships

Offensive coordinator Frank Reich boasts 25 season of NFL experience as both a player and coach. Reich was the former third-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in 1985 and played in the league for 14 years. Reich was a backup for the majority of his time in the NFL and has played in a total of 129 games with 22 starts

Running backs coach Duce Staley was a multi-talented running back for the Eagles from 1997-2003. Staley ranks sixth in the Eagles record book with 7,305 total yards from scrimmage and 16th with 275 receptions

Wide receivers coach Greg Lewis rejoned the Eagles in 2016. Lewis had a six-year career with the Eagles from 2003-08 and appeared in four NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl during his time in Philadelphia

Tight ends coach Justin Peelle was originally a fourth-round draft choice of the Chargers in 2002 and played in the NFL for 10 seasons. During his career, Peelle totaled 123 receptions for 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns in 151 games

Safeties coach Tim Hauck spent four years with the Eagles and played in 51 gamess with 18 starts. Hauck's most extensive NFL defensive action came in his first season in Philadelphia, when he started at strong safety alongside Brian Dawkins

Assistant offensive line/tight ends/run game coach Eugene Chung played in the NFL for six years. Chung played for the Patriots, Jaguars, Colts, Chiefs and Eagles during his tenure

Defensive quality control/assistant defensive line coach Phillip Daniels was a fourth-round selection by Seattle Seahawks in 1996. Daniels played in the NFL for 15 seasons and notched 512 tackles, 62 sacks, one interception, 51 passes defensed, 15 forced fumbles and 12 fumble recoveries
