Students and faculty from William D. Kelley school visited Lincoln Financial Field

The students were invited to attend the special Fuel Up To Play 60 kick-off celebration

Part of the goal for the event was to promote 60 minutes of activity a day

The students were shown a special message from Eagles LB Connor Barwin about healthy eating and exercise

Marilyn Hershey, a dairy farmer, offered her advise on eating healthy

The students had the opportunity to ask questions throughout the day

WR Jordan Matthews spoke to the students about his experience with a healthy lifestyle

Since the late 1960s, the obesity epidemic among children ages 6-19 has nearly quadrupled

Studies have shown that physical activity among children improves school attendance

SWOOP was in attendance to explain how a healthy lifestyle also enhances academic performanceÂ

Living a healthy lifestyle has also shown to help in the development of essential interpersonal skills

In addition, the school received a "Fuel Up to Play 60" Philadelphia Eagles Hometown Grant of $10,000

The grant is from the NFL and Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association for taking part in the "Fuel Up to Play 60" initiative

The school will use the funds to improve its healthy eating and physical activity programsÂ

The students were shown how to make healthy sandwiches

For a treat, the students were also shown that parfait can be a healthy substitution

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a program founded by the National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with the USDA, that empowers students to take charge in making small, everyday changes at school

Students can win prizes, like an NFL player visit or Super Bowl tickets, for choosing good-for-you foods and getting active for at least 60 minutes every day

Fuel Up To Play 60 wants children to make a difference not only in their lives, but also in their communities
