The Eagles signed running back Mike Bell to an offer sheet last Tuesday night and from that point on, the countdown for New Orleans to match the offer sheet started. It was initially reported -- incorrectly as it turns out (we apologize) -- that the countdown began on Wednesday, once the paperwork went to the league office.
The correction means that the deadline for the Saints to match the offer sheet is 11:59 p.m. tonight. So the coundown is really on to find out if Bell will remain in New Orleans, or if he will join the Eagles for the 2010 season.
