Some quick thoughts for everyone. Can't thank my family, friends, teammates, and fans enough. Love y'all! #AO1 pic.twitter.com/vBwxG4So5N — Carson Wentz (@cj_wentz) December 11, 2017
After what he described as a "rough day," quarterback Carson Wentz posted a video on Twitter thanking fans for their support and promising to "come back stronger than ever" after suffering an ACL tear in his left knee Sunday against the Rams.
"I can promise to everybody, all my fans out there in the Philly area, North Dakota area, all across this country that this will not stop me. Going forward, I will come back stronger than ever. I will use this as motivation and I'll be attacking this whole process as I recover," Wentz said.
Wentz wanted to remind fans that the team has persevered through injuries all season long and the "next man up" mentality will continue.
"This year, we still have something special. We just clinched the NFC East. That was step one of our goals this season. We're just continuing on from there," Wentz said. "I have the utmost confidence in Nick (Foles), the coaching staff, and everybody else that they'll step up.
"Nick's going to do an amazing job and lead this team now."
Wentz stated that he will be there to support Foles and his teammates in any way he can.
