Kenny Chesney will once again perform at Lincoln Financial Field this summer (Saturday, June 16th), as he and Tim McGraw are reuniting for the musical event of 2012, the 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour. This is the fifth time in the last six years that Chesney will perform at Lincoln Financial Field, with all of the shows selling out. Last year, Lincoln Financial Field played host to three sell-out concerts, including Chesney (6/18), U2 (7/14) and Taylor Swift (8/6).
"We are excited that Lincoln Financial Field has once again been chosen as a destination for this great event," said Eagles COO Don Smolenski. "Kenny is one of the top performers in the world and puts on a phenomenal show for his fans. We also view events like this as a great opportunity to showcase Philadelphia as an intriguing tourism destination, while generating millions of dollars for the City."
This will mark the first time in 10 years that Chesney and McGraw have hit the road together. The reunion will kick off June 2 in Tampa, FL and will feature stadium shows on weekend dates at venues across the country. 'Brothers of the Sun' will also feature special guests Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
The announcement comes on the heels of Chesney's massively successful 'Goin' Coastal' Tour, which blew away more than 1.3 million fans, making it the year's biggest country tour. A four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year winner, Chesney will be honored at CMT's Artists of the Year event on December 13.
McGraw is a three-time GRAMMY winner who has had a #1 single in each of the last three decades – 32 in total – including the title track of his most recent album, 'Southern Voice.' His 2010 tour in support of that album was the year's biggest country tour. McGraw is also an accomplished actor, having starred in films such as the Oscar-nominated blockbuster 'The Blind Side' and the critically acclaimed 'Friday Night Lights.'
