Cole Hopes To End Streak Sunday

Defensive end Trent Cole is fifth in franchise history with 50.0 sacks. Since 2006, his second season, Cole is third in the NFL with 45.0 sacks.

Cole has 3.0 sacks this season, but he's in danger of doing something that he hasn't done since the 2007 campaign. That's go three straight games in the same season without a sack. Just last season, the ironman of the defensive line - Cole is week in and week out the leader in snaps - had only five games where he didn't register a sack.

"Wow. Thank you for telling me that. We have to go get it done this Sunday. We can't have that," Cole said regarding the streak. "Sacks come in spurts. Sometimes there's a dead period. Sometimes you'll just start racking them up all of a sudden. It's a weird game. It's weird when it comes to getting sacks. I got sacks last year and I have a whole bunch of sacks this year. That's how it is."

The target this Sunday is Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who has been sacked 10 times this season. Cole will battle former first-round pick Sam Baker. Cole has never faced Baker, even though these two teams have met in each of the past two seasons. Cole didn't post a sack in either game, but the Eagles were victorious both times.
