Dallas' 2008 first-round draft pick Mike Jenkins suffered a right ankle injury during Saturday morning's practice, according to the Fort-Worth Star Telegram. The former South Florida star was helped out by two trainers before he was carted off the field. The injury took place during a team drill that did not involve live hitting. Jenkins is competing with Orlando Scandrick for the starting cornerback job opposite of Terence Newman. Players said that Jenkins was having an "outstanding" camp before the injury, according to the Cowboys' official team website.
Running back Tashard Choice did return this morning for Dallas after missing the last two days with a shoulder injury that was uffered Wednesday afternoon. MRI results on the shoulder were negative.
