The Good: Athletic defensive line prospect with a tremendous amount of upside potential. Fluid moving about the field, effortlessly changes direction, and displays quickness in his overall game. Bends his knees, gets leverage on opponents, and very active with his hands throughout the action. Explodes off the snap, plays with terrific balance, and fast up the field or getting out to the flanks. Rarely off his feet and plays with tremendous balance. Shows an array of pass rush moves and constantly making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Displayed tremendous power in his game during a standout performance at the Senior Bowl.
The Bad: Engulfed at the point of attack or gets caught up in the wash. Rather easily locked up at the point of attack or out-positioned from the action.
The Verdict: Carrington is a well-sized defensive line prospect with a large degree of underlying athleticism. He also possesses the versatility to be used at several positions on the defensive line. Carrington is a solid prospect as a defensive end in a four-man line yet has the growth potential to develop into a two-gap end. Considered undraftable before the season, Carrington has since worked his way into the draft's top 100 picks.
